Polls are not necessarily support...not sure why the media refuse to stop equating the two after all the trainwrecks they've witnessed and even caused by relying on polls.

What it DOES demonstrate is that idiots are idiotic ie they will respond to carpet-bombing of ads in terms of name recognition - but again this does not automatically become political support.
