The Senate on Wednesday voted almost entirely along party lines to acquit President Donald Trump on abuse of power.

On the first of two articles of impeachment, Republican Mitt Romney of Utah voted to convict Trump, along with all Democrats and independents.

Trump is expected to be acquitted in the vote on the second article, obstruction of Congress, in a party-line vote with all Republicans voting to acquit and all Democrats voting to convict

[Romney lone Republican to vote with Democrats: Every Democrat and independent voted to convict on the first article of impeachment.]

Well, the traitors to the Republic certainly made themselves known, didn’t they?

I thought maybe a couple of Democrats didn’t drink the Koolaid. Oh well. Not surprised.

LDS Bishop Romney got the Mormon church to force Hatch to retire so he can run and serve as a spoiler against Trump. Prove me wrong.

I am an independent for Trump - the GOP E has always been a party full of Deep State cucks. The GOP even backstabbed Nixon who had given them historic victories. Thank God Trump came along. The real heroes are the GOP base that forced the GOPE to support Trump. The GOP Base are the real heroes. The GOPE may have acquitted Trump but I have a nagging suspicion m any wanted Trump hurt so that he loses re-election because the GOPE loves free trade, loves open borders for cheap labor and loves Neocon regime change wars.

Prove me wrong.

My two cents: Don’t go after Mittens. Yet.

Let’s see how November shakes out. Assuming it shakes out well for the GOP, and Mitten’s vote isn’t needed (not that he can trusted in any manner), expel him from the GOP.

Strip him down to his magic underwear. Let him caucus with the Bolsheviks.

Utah needs to learn what electing that tick turd means.

And to the IQ of 3 dullards that keep saying “Muh Manchin”: HAVE YOU FIGURED IT OUT YET????????????????

The only one I recall is Joe Lieberman.

Romney votes to convict on abuse of power, having no evidence of any abuse.

Trump didn't pull these accusations out of thin air, the Biden crime family absolutely reeked of Ukrainian corruption! Trump had a duty to request an investigation.

Mittens is simply still butt-hurt!

Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump .@MittRomney has announced he is running for the Senate from the wonderful State of Utah. He will make a great Senator and worthy successor to @OrrinHatch, and has my full support and endorsement! ...and this is the way he repays his president. Traitorous scum!

I heard his defense of the indefensible... and watching him for decades now... clearly...

I believe that Mitt is manifest in at least two very vile things:
1. A religiously prideful, self-righteous, self-exalting hypocrite convicting those more innocent, ruling in favor of demonstrated liars, baby killing pricks and mentally ill democrats.

2. A willing liar, eager beneficiary and wealthy participant in the Burisma’s illegal activities in Eastern Europe... who was illegally benefiting Mitt and his friends, MOST likely due to his investments by and for the Mormon church.

Mitt is hell bound Pharisaical pride addicted sinner in need of a life impacting road to Damascus experience that removes him from the cult of his pride and deceit driven FALSE religious cult. Burning heart, my foot... he’s gonna have a burning hide if he does NOT REPENT.

HIS judgement at God’s hand is NOT going to be forever deferred.

What is scary is that close to 50 were willing to throw a president out of office on NONSENSE!!

That should send a chill down everyone’s spine.

I got my chill in 1998 when 50 democrates voted to acquit President Clinton despite his clear perjury crime.

My very first chill was 1992 when we elected President Clinton despite his infidelities. If he's not faithful to his wife, why should we trust him with our vote? Just 4 years before Gary Hart was disqualified as the Demo nominee because of cheating on his wife. Why had the electorate changed so much since then?

It seemed obvious GHW Bush should be re-elected because of how he conducted the Iraq war. But emotion won the day.

Trump didn't pull these accusations out of thin air...

Absolutely...I would admire to hear Romney point to one piece of evidence, not hearsay and presumptions etc., that Trump did not make the call to Zelensky for purposes of investigating and stopping corruption. Romney, unless he had such evidence, cast his vote, IMO, based on prejudice against Trump- who deserved the benefit of the doubt from each senator and especially one from his own party. IMO, Romney must be suffering from a serious cognitive pathology.
