The Senate on Wednesday voted almost entirely along party lines to acquit President Donald Trump on abuse of power.

On the first of two articles of impeachment, Republican Mitt Romney of Utah voted to convict Trump, along with all Democrats and independents.

Trump is expected to be acquitted in the vote on the second article, obstruction of Congress, in a party-line vote with all Republicans voting to acquit and all Democrats voting to convict

Will someone ask Mr Romney what exactly it was about a phone call to the President of Ukraine that was an “abuse of power”? Especially when the President of Ukraine said that there was no pressure to do anything, Ukraine received their aid, the transcripts of the call were released, and Presidents quite often withhold aid conditioned on some action or promise. So, please, Mitt... what was the “abuse” here?

THIS is why I urged the White House to endorse Kennedy, Romney’s opponent, and even schedule a Trump visit to Utah in support of him. After Romney’s past, vile attacks on Trump, to endorse him was a terrible decision.

One thing is crystal-clear. There are ZERO “moderate” or patriotic Demonrats in the U.S. Senate. All voted to support a coup d’état, and all must be made to pay for their treason.

The irony is that if Romney was Republican president it would have been his impeachment.

I don't think so, for many reasons. For temperamental and stylistic and behavioral reasons, DJT drives Dems crazy like no Republican does. A restrained and conventional Republican would make them mad, get them riled up, get them to oppose him, but they would not have impeached a conventional Republican like Romney (or Pence or Dole etc.). Trump just pushes boundaries in many ways that conventional Republicans don't.

“We are coming for ya down here in Alabama, Jonesy. . . !!”

I sent Jones an email also. It read:

Dear Senator Jones,
I believe you will be needing a realtor in November. I know a good one in Shenzhen PRC. You’d like it there.

Sincerely

It is a terrible thing when CJ Roberts has to remorsefully submit to the US Constitution.

(not that he has)

Trump will romp in November, and he will have wide coattails. Goodbye, Dem House control. Goodbye, Nancy. Goodbye, a few more Dem Senators. After that, we’ll see what consequences they all suffer. Mitt’s not getting Trump’s endorsement ever again.

Little Miss “centrist” just sealed her own fate - enjoy your one term in office bi-girl. I could have seen myself voting for her in 2024 especially since she seemed to be putting the state of Arizona’s welfare above party politics. What is the strange hold Schumer has on these people? And not even one single democrat couldn’t see through the blatant B.S. of this entire affair to vote his conscience?

As for that despicable scumbag in Utah...I can’t even describe the level of contempt I have for him.

It WASN’T Obstruction of Justice.

It was Obstruction of Congress.

I kid you not.

Not even real “obstruction of justice”, but a made up new crime.
