This Is How Trump Would Destroy Bernie Sanders. Bernie is Trump's dream candidate.

...

Working with Sanders’ own website, experts project an increase in spending far greater than that required by FDR’S New Deal or Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society—roughly $60 trillion over 10 years.

Such an explosion in spending requires a massive increase in the federal deficit and/or significant tax increases on the middle class. Mark Zandi of Moody’s Analytics estimates that the taxes on the wealthy proposed by Sanders cover only between 40 percent and 45 percent of his programs. The rest would be paid, directly or indirectly, by Americans at large.

Imagine, if you will, Sanders trying to explain to ordinary citizens why all this is good for them. And then try to envision them rushing to the political barricades, en masse, to support it.

To the contrary, Sanders’ enthusiasm for doubling the size of government feeds the perception that he is driven more by an ideological passion for federal power than a targeted desire to help Americans most in need.

For example, Sanders proposes to provide free public college for every applicant, no matter how wealthy, and eradicate $16 trillion in student debt—irrespective of the borrower’s ability to repay. These proposals are not only gratuitously expensive but regressive: squandering taxpayer dollars on free college for the affluent threatens to short change programs for those who truly need them—whether working parents in search of adequate childcare, or unemployed workers who require job retraining.

For all but those impassioned with grand governmental designs, maximalist federal programs are not a good in themselves. And when excessive or ill designed, they diminish the credibility of those who propose them.

This applies doubly to a candidate who, heedless of impact, insists on calling himself a socialist. While less off-putting to young people, the label is anathema to the swing voters Democrats need.

The writer is forgetting that under Bernie, there will soon be few or none that are affluent. There will only be the formerly affluent. Or those doing well in government, doling out what little is left.

I’m seriously considering going in and requesting a Democrat ballot when VA primary rolls around and voting for Bernie.
Bernie won’t lose as bad as McGovern or Mondale, but he’d come closest.

All of the Rat candidates are a dream to run against. If done properly. Actually they’re a nightmare for the Rats. Yeah baby!

Operation Chaos 2020: Vote for Bernie!

I'll tell you what, I'm crossing over to vote for Bernie here in Illinois. I want the referendum in 2020 to be Capitalism v. Socialism.

No one cares about the debt. Well, 0.001% of the population does and only 0.001% of them would show up to vote.
That is the only thing that most of America can agree on is that no one cares about the debt!
Rich, Poor, Young, Old, Employed, Dead-beat...
No one can relate to 1 million dollars much less 1 million, quadrillion dollars since it is not tangible and not attainable in most peoples minds.

I disagree with the author.

Many voter’s eyes glaze over when you throw out big dollar amounts. To the under-informed voter there’s no difference between $60 trillion and $60 billion.

Of course, the difference is $180,000 for every man/woman/child vs. $180 in new taxes.

The real attack on Sanders is this:
- His health. Really would be voting for his VP choice.
- He is not even a democrat.
- He is essentially a communist.
- Has zero experience in business.

Never Trumpers are Never Bernie too.

They care nothing for the country, only their hate for Trump.

The Bulwark doesn’t disappoint.

The amazing thing is that Bernie would still win a few states. California, NY, Illinois, MA, MD. He would have well over 100 electoral votes.

With Bernie you run adds with his campaign guy talking about gulags and taking homes away from landlords and probably not having to kill them.

With Warren play the race card about her taking a minorities position by claiming false ethnicity. I did read that in Iowa she came in 4th in Pocahontas county.

I don’t even know the rest of them have any chance.

The Bulwark. Bill Kristols' nevertrumper website. Open borders. "Free" trade.

I would have thought The Bulwark would be cheering for Bernie. Anyone But Trump.

"The Bulwark is a project of Defending Democracy Together Institute" (or DDT)

DDT: "We are conservatives and Republicans standing up for the rule of law, for free trade, and for more welcoming legal immigration policies"

Are these the same people who said there was no way Trump was going to beat Jeb, Marco, Rafael Jr (”Ted”), Kasich etc.?

Be careful for what you wish for.

Never Trumpers like Kristol want a more viable Democrat candidate than Commie Bernie. They want Trump to lose and know Sanders can’t get the job done.

They could take every cent from “the rich” and it wouldn’t cover Bernies proposals for more than 3 months

They pulled this 40-45% out of their @ss

“roughly $60 trillion over 10 years”

Trump should point that out and then say:

“I know I’m good, but even I can’t grow the economy fast enough for us to afford THAT!”

No one better represents the Rats’ politics than Sanders — and his staff members.
