Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, told Fox News' Chris Wallace Wednesday in an exclusive interview that he "had to follow my conscience" in deciding to vote to convict President Trump on abuse of power, a decision that's likely to lead to serious blowback from Trump and others in the Republican Party.
"I believe that the act he took, an effort to corrupt an election is as destructive an attack on the oath of office and our Constitution as I can imagine," Romney said. "It is a high crime and misdemeanor within the meaning of the Constitution, and that is not a decision I take lightly. It is the last decision I want to take."

Two Anti-American RINOs in Utah. You know what to do come election time
One of his staff advisors also had a position at Burisma....
Sen. Mitt Romney, D-Bangalore
Fixed it for them.
He flipped as his D credentials are what is needed for all the Indian H1B trash him and the other Utah traitor want to bring to Utah for their Silicon Slopes dream.
Typical Liberal...voting based on emotion and feeling rather than on facts.
President Trump should announce during his speech tomorrow, that Mitt Romney has information which could lead to the arrest of Hillary Clinton.
He needs to be shunned. Set his desk off to the side, by itself. Strip him from committees. Don’t let him caucus with Republicans. Just completely ignore him.
If he ever goes to San Francisco, I hope to see him so I can treat him like a sidewalk.
“”I believe that the act he took,”
but you believed a lie - Mitt I am so glad you never became president - even though obama years were bad at least I knew they would not be good with him in office - you would have been a hope for good only to be dashed -
Understood. I’m not all that committed to Nikki Hailey either. I’ve heard her speak several times and followed her ambassadorship at the UN. She sounded like someone who understood how power is used in diplomacy and someone who should be taken seriously if she threatened to use it..
I also like presidential candidates that are twice elected governors of medium to large states. There is no job - except Vice President (maybe - depending how much leash the President will give you) - that can train you for the roles and responsibilities of President. But being a governor and being good enough at the job to be re-elected should at least get a person trained to lead a multiagency bureaucracy, select and fire managers, create and negotiate budgets, form coalitions, pass legislation, deal with crises, etc. In other words, the nuts and bolts skills needed to take command of an organization and get it running efficiently.
A point usually misunderstood by persons who have not had executive resonsibilities.
A Senator is a consultant. Like a lawyer. Not in charge of anything but staff and if he does nothing, life goes on unabated. A CEO, Governor, even a city manager has to deliver every day.
Hyperbole much, Senator?
That's just absurd - if that's the best he could come up with for reasoning you can tell he doesn't really believe it.
It is like he thinks he was elected in Massachusetts instead of Utah - zero excuse for this kind of absurdity. There is zero evidence to support this and any rationale person who actually looked at the facts knows this.
Are you my conscience?
Mittens HAS to have kin involved in the Ukraine. He just has to.
He’s as corrupt as all the other democrats.
I hope his transgressions are worn around his neck (figuratively speaking, of course) when he’s pulled down from his high horse. He is trash. He went against an INNOCENT President. He is as useless, as traitorous as any other democRAT.
Given his record as Gov. of MA it’s obvious Mutt doesn’t have a conscience.
As the late Bob Grant would have put it:
Mittens is a “FAKE, PHONY FRAUD!!!”
Exactly. Hence my distaste for the current practice of selecting presidential candidates from Congressm...ah, persons and Senators. Legislators run their offices and can pick up and drop issues at will. Governors (chief executives) must lead each day, every day, when the news is good and when it is very bad, etc., etc. Why people think they are comparable in qualification for the highest executive office is a mystery.
There really is no substitute for government chief executive service. In terms of complexity and scale, even a mega billion dollar commercial enterprise pales when compared to a national level government. Furthermore, a responsible government cannot cease attempting to perform its mission throughout its territory as long as it exists. It may, at times, execute its missions poorly due to lack of resources. But only extinction can ever relieve it of its responsibility.
Mitt Romney is a person without any principles of any kind, variety, or description. He’s called Etch A Sketch for a reason.
Here’s Mitt’s licence plate, apparently ...
..State of UTAH..
