Lung cancer is not necessarily a death sentence. I have a friend who had stage 4 lung cancer and was a candidate for gene therapy and has been cancer free for 5 years. I hope and pray Rush will beat this. He has enough love headed his way and some of the strongest prayer warriors who will be lighting up the sky with prayers for him.
Rush is telling you what he needs to do. He says his greatest satisfaction personally is to continue to do the show.
No Rush needs to do what he wants.
If you have not gone through dometing like this you can nit know.
He is right. For him bring normal is what is important.

That is what I would recommend also. But I can’t figure out some guys. Alex Trebeck on Jeopardy, too. Somehow what they do seems to be who they are?
Still, would not wish this type of thing on anyone.
HE just said that one of the greatest joys of his life IS doing his program.
If he can only do a couple days a week, and he is enjoying it, God bless him and let him do it.
He's with his extended family and friends every day he's on the air.

None of the cancer survivors I know missed work unless they had to-they credit that, right after God and friends for being alive-also my employer and best friend was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor some years ago and told to go fishing because he had mere months-instead he kept working and operating the business-he and I had lunch and did the next week’s bids at my place with another friend and contractor one Friday afternoon-my employer died in his sleep at home that Sunday night-after living and working for 5 years after being told he would not-so one size does not fit all-I don’t see Rush sitting at home waiting to die, either...

Um...I think he considers his listeners his “friends”....what’s he going to di? Mope around the house or golf every day? Doesn’t sound like Rush.
He has no kids, although he does have a wife. The radio show, his staff, and the community of listeners, has been his life for decades.
