Me, too. Rush and Free Republic got me through the Clinton debacle called a presidency. National treasures, both.
He has no kids, although he does have a wife. The radio show, his staff, and the community of listeners, has been his life for decades.
Through a fortunate coincidence my daughter was able to hook me up with the top guy at Sloan (or maybe the world) for this sort of thing. Now, all the metastatic growths have disappeared. I haven't had any treatments since March. All I do is go for pictures every three months.

While I hope Rush would qualify for the same level of treatment that Ginsburg is getting I kind of doubt that he does.
He doesn’t work for the dark side.
Lung cancer is not the automatic death sentence that some other kinds are, like brain or pancreatic. He’s got a pretty good chance of surviving this, although he may feel like hell for the next 3-4 months. But I’ve seen people who had lung cancer 15 years ago, and they made it back. I hope for the best for Rush, because he is one of our greatest voices. I truly believe it was he who began to turn the cultural tide against onrushing Marxism. If not for Rush, we’d be Europe by now, I really believe that.
I am heartbroken. I cant even imagine losing Rush. Hopefully he will achieve remission. Especially with all the people who will be praying for him.
I have decided the best way I can show our support is through his sales -- profits for his ongoing charitys.
I was just commenting the other day about how frail he looked in a recent photo. Now we know why.
Prayers for your complete recovery, Rush.
I have been expecting a retirement announcement any time. I mean, he is 69 years old, has plenty of money... I figured he'd announce his intention to get through "one more" election season. What better day to announce it than the day of the first votes?
Right up until he said "cancer", I was prepared.... then THAT word. I'm still shocked. This is NOT the way this story is supposed to end.
Rush Limbaugh is an Icon, a rebel, and an industry leader who forever changed the world.
CNBC recently composed a list of the Top 25 such people during their first 25 years on the air. The fact that they left Rush OFF this list made the entire list meaningless.
Who else has changed the world of politics, or the business of broadcasting more? No one... it's not even close.
God Speed Rush. No matter the outcome, this will be a difficult journey. Just know that we are ALL here with you, for every step. We will be praying for God's will and comfort for you, Kathryn, and all of your family.
He's the main reason...I'm a Conservative.
Started listening...way back in the early-mid 80's...in SoCal...
His friends include his audience. Three hours a day, five days a week at most leave lots of time for family.
I am so sad for Rush. God bless him.
Perhaps President Trumps Right to Try Bill will benefit Rush. Praying for Rush. Im devastated.
Im so sorry for your loss! As for Rush, he has been an important part of my day over the years. I have come to love him as a brother and will keep him in my prayers.
Amen.
Ginsburg had a different type of lung cancer. There are different types and each has different ways of responding to the various treatments. The type Ginsburg had is none that nonsmokers fet. Her tumors were on the outside of the lung. Smokers get it on the inside of the lung.
I knew something was up with Rush because his voice was changing. I attributed it to his hearing inplants.
I feel sorry for Rush and will pray for him.

Wonderful post, Tim. You experienced it as I did.
Sometimes I truly think that God takes some people because he wants them near him...
