I think that the Tennessee legislature has better things to do than to point out the obvious.

Why do we need useless bills to “formally recognize” crap like this? Just do something useful with the taxpayers money, and with your time.

It is likely to be unconstitutional. I despise CNN and the NYT as much as anyone, but this ,I feel is a bridge to far.

Look, we all know it's not going to be passed but that's not the point. The point is to bring attention to the fact that supposedly unbiased news media outlets in our country are engaging in partisan politics under the guise of neutrality. It's something that DOES need to be pointed out and a state representative doing this to highlight the scurrilous actions of the media isn't stupid, it's a needed countermand to their biased opinion pieces masquerading as news.

Does anyone outside of Beltway Republicans even watch CNN? Maybe people in assisted living who can’t work the remote anymore? In 5 years will there be a CNN? Certainly not in 10. Nobody watches it.

It’s pretty sad when the National Enquirer is a more credible news source than CNN and Wash. comPost.

“Nobody watches it.”

Except for every soul that flies.

I understand CNN pays the airports to carry their fake news broadcast. Seems like they bought themselves a monopoly.

It sounds like this is just the way this particular guy gets publicity.

It is likely to be unconstitutional

No it isn't unconstitutional

No laws were passed to abridge CNN's and the Washington Post's First Amendment right to broadcast Fake News.

It was a non binding resolution documenting the law makers opinions about CNN and the Washington Post.

We all know this. It is grandstanding by a legislator. Like I said before, it will waste time, and there are more important issues. I think there might be 45 people in the whole state paying attention to either one of these “news” outlets.

Nonsense. The more people that declare that CNN is Fake News, the better. And it's not just 45 people.

It’s sort of funny this is actually a bill, but he probably should have just submitted a story to the Babylon Bee for publication.

Tennessee would officially consider both CNN and The Washington Post to be “fake news” outlets...

Why stop at those two? Include the New York Times and PMSDNC! Surely, there are more!

It’s still a bill of attainder. Barred in the Constitution.
