My wife is not a big fan of President Trump. So when I got back from covering the Trump rally in Wildwood Tuesday, she asked me a question: “Were there any empty seats?”
Were there any empty seats at Woodstock?
I’ve never covered a Trump event that didn’t evoke images of that 1969 rock festival. As with Woodstock, the organizers have no need to advertise the event widely. The mere mention of it is enough to attract massive throngs of the faithful. Another similarity is the opportunity to hear a lot of great rock music from the 1960s. I arrived at the Wildwoods Convention Center a bit after 4 p.m. after walking a Woodstock-like distance from the only parking spot I could find.
On the way in I phoned a political contact who was working on the floor that evening. He described the atmosphere as “Trumpstock.”
Trump certainly got the music right. If the songs that play at his events are any indication, The Donald has a discerning ear for the music of the rock era.
The Rolling Stones’ “Let’s Spend the Night Together” (see below) was blasting from an outdoor sound system as I walked past the holding pens where thousands of fans were waiting to see the show.
That’s not the sort of theme most Republican politicians would endorse. But The Donald does what The Donald wants to do.

Some Bernie supporter claims he’s getting thousands at his rallies. If that’s true, it’s disheartening, because what’s scarier than Bernie is the fact that anyone thinks he has good ideas. This country is in trouble with that many thinking the government should take care of you from cradle to grave, and control you in the process.
I want President Trump to hold a rally in Connecticut.. it would be great!!
I recommend that everyone read the article. You won’t be sorry.
If sanders is drawing “thousands” at his rallys why has it not been reported anywhere? At least I have not seen even one report myself.
