You're looking at this like victors wanting to claim full victory at once. I don't think Trump is sweating anything here. He's probably enjoying it to a certain degree. That's his nature.

The word is both sides of the isle wanted to make statements from the floor before the Impeachment trial was over. That would have taken a lot of time. It wasn't something that could have been rushed last night.

Think of it this way. It may help.

For the next four days, the demoⁿcRats are going to have it rubbed in their face, that this idiotic poorly thought out falsified impeachment is going to be defeated.

I think dragging it out is going to cause them daily pain until the final vote puts the last nail in this coffin filled with the dead body of their beloved impeachment.
