Giuliani calls Bolton a 'backstabber' over Ukraine allegations

Volume 90%

President Trump's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani denounced former national security adviser John Bolton as a "backstabber" in an interview set to broadcast Wednesday. Giuliani tore into Bolton in the interview with "CBS This Morning" in the wake of reports that Bolton was critical of him and raised concerns about his activities in Ukraine to other administration officials. "He never said to me, 'I've got a problem with what you are doing in Ukraine,'" Giuliani said. "Never once, never winked, never sent me a little note. He is a personal friend, I thought. So here's the only conclusion I can come to, and it's a harsh one, and I feel very bad about it: He's a backstabber."

"If your friend was complaining about you behind your back and didn't have the guts to come up to your face and tell you, 'I think you're screwing up' ... that'd be a backstabber," he continued. "That's classic backstabber. So I feel I got a swamp character here."

I'm old enough to remember when most conservatives LOVED Bolton, and LOVED George Bush for making him (acting) UN ambassador.

Since I despised Bush and the Iraq war, I also couldn't stand warmonger Bolton. I got a of grief from friend who said I wasn't a "conservative," because I opposed the invasion of Iraq and didn't like Bolton.

I still see some of those old friends, but they're mostly embarrassed to admit they were BushBots and Bolton Groupies.

I think Giuliani is going down the path of Hannity. A lot of what he’s saying becomes nails on the chalkboard.

I prefer Podesta’s term - rat-effer.

Indeed.....Although I've always know Bolton was a neo-con and a chronic interventionalist, I did believe him to be a patriot and loyal.

I was wrong on both counts as he's proved to be a disloyal vindictive conniving snake.

“the path of Hannity. “

the ‘path’ was from Trump through Hannity to the listeners.

A lot more is known today than in 2001, and opinions change as facts change. Karl Rove was once a Magnificent Bastard; now we know he’s the Turd Blossom GWB calls him. Bolton was La Grande Moustache, but we’ve learned he really is just Une Énorme Merde.

At the time, W and Bolton looked like conservatives and leaders.

Now that we have a real leader with GIANT brass balls, they look very small and weak by comparison.

“A lot more is known today than in 2001, and opinions change as facts change”

Sorry, it was obvious that taking out Saddam - who was keeping the jihadis in check - would let all the crazies run wild, which is exactly what happened, and would empower Saddam’s enemy, Iran. Trump knew enough in 2001 to oppose invading Iraq. So did Reagan’s NSA advisor, Bobby Inman. So did Tom Clancy. So did the Pope John Paul II. So did Putin - who urged Bush not to create chaos in Iraq by invading and taking out the government. So did the UN inspectors who were IN IRAQ AT THE TIME and said they couldn’t find WMDs.

Bush the FOOL didn’t listen to any of them, instead followed Cheney, Bolton, Bill Kristol and made what Trump calls “one of the biggest foreign policy blunders in US history.”

I hope Boltons retirement is “enjoyable” cause he will never hold another government position ... hope his book is a dud as well ... could not happen to a nicer traitor

I like his podcast. It is a criminal trial. He prepares us, the viewer, the jury. A real trial.

” he will never hold another government position “

Don’t bet on that. If a Bush-type Republican succeeds Trump, watch for Bolton to be offered a job. I suspect that most members of the GOP Senate still like him; they’re all biding their time till Trump is out of office.

True for many including, I believe, President Trump.

I think Trump just naturally thought the best of people, believed most in DC were patriots. He know VERY different now. I suspect his second term is going to go very hard on unAmerican, treasonous perps like Brennan, ValJar, Comey, Clintons, Soros and many others.

Hoping strongly for a crapload or indictments in early 2021.

Good points. Note: Michael Savage at the beginning of Trump even talking to Bolton at a party attended by Savage said to the President in person: “I dont think you should have anything to do with Bolton. He’s going to cause you nothing but trouble.”

However, I heard from a Glenn Beck fan that Beck today said “I like Bolton and I would like to hear what he has to say as a witness.”

Oh yeah??

As the O’jays sang in The Backstabbers....(in 1972)....

A few of your buddies they sure look shady
Blades are long, clenched tight in their fist
Aimin’ straight at your back
And I don’t think they’ll miss

They smile in your face——
All the time they want to take your place
The back stabbers
(back stabbers)
