Whats really interesting is that Shea will be responsible for handling highly politically charged cases. Things that make you go hmmm, right?
Attorney General William Barr on Thursday named Timothy Shea, one of his closest advisers, to be the next top prosecutor in the nations capital.
Shea will lead the largest U.S. attorneys office in the country, which has been historically responsible for some of the most significant and politically sensitive cases the Justice Department brings in the U.S.
He is a senior counselor to the attorney general and was Barrs right-hand man helping institute reforms at the federal Bureau of Prisons after Jeffrey Epsteins death at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City.
As the U.S. attorney in the District of Columbia, Shea would oversee some of the lingering cases from special counsel Robert Muellers Russia investigation, along with a number of politically charged investigations. The office is also generally responsible for handling potential prosecutions if Congress finds a witness in contempt.
Tim brings to this role extensive knowledge and expertise in law enforcement matters as well as an unwavering dedication to public service, reflected in his long and distinguished career in state and federal government, Barr said in a statement. His reputation as a fair prosecutor, skillful litigator, and excellent manager is second-to-none, and his commitment to fighting violent crime and the drug epidemic will greatly benefit the city of Washington. The timing of this and the choice is interesting.
One cant help but wonder if this is a move made to support possible indictments and whatnot down the road pertaining to #SpyGate.
Just a few weeks ago William Barr sat down with NBC Today and said in no uncertain terms that the FBI acted in bad faith in regards to the Russia investigation.
Dishonest but not criminal.

Mistakes were made. Mere sloppiness. No controlling legal authority. Relying on outdated procedures. Part of a broader mosaic.
We’re likely hear some more new and creative excuses.
Correct me if I am wrong, but it would seem our entire government spends most of its time servicing one another at the DC Glory Hole in the shape of a beltway.
This is why the Deep State has been acting like they have. You are right the show is about to begin.
Barr hasnt done squat about McCabe, Brennan, Comey Strozk and Page.
Just to name a few..
Is he a good witch or a bad witch?
His quantification for the job are niether that he is a family member nor friend. He someone Barr has worked with who is amply qualified for the job
Really a stupid, knowingly misleading, headline to this story.
What a knee slapper. The only indictments will be for Trump’s confidants on trumped up charges.
It’s good to know our government is virtually crime free.
It appears that Barr and Durham are highly competent, honest, and thorough—exactly what the USA needs most right now. The big question is how deeply they will penetrate into the corruption.
Still waiting for Barr to take action. He talks a good game, but no action is taken.
Wait for Durham, we’re told.
Why hasn’t Barr put the kybosh on the Flynn persecution?
Why is he hands off on the DoJ (sic) stonewalling of Sharyl Atkisson?
Why are there continual “decline to prosecute” decisions against DoJ (sic) criminals?
Where is the Epstein report? Why were the cameras off?
Why does the DoJ (sic) continually stonewall Senators Johnson and Grassley?
Why? Because Barr wants to preserve the institution. Spit.
But Barr gave a great speech a few months back or something.
I share your lack of optimism for justice, but Durham is not DC.
Bttt.
Before that, I hope that he is forced from the House of Representatives for malfeasance and misconduct...
No need. An indictment is forever, even if a jury later throws out the case. Just ask Nancy.
The great, nuanced Deep Swamp cover-up continues.
Kind of a moot point though as youll never get a D.C. jury to convict any of em.
Exactly correct. Even if Barr is acting in good faith the entire rest of the DOJ building is in “Resistance” mode with top cover from the GOP Senate.
The “Trump” DOJ played football with McCabe’s criminal referral for over a year. Much of that time Barr was AG, of course.
Something like that has to happen, otherwise these coup attempts are never going to end. It’s ridiculous that even the 1st attempt was allowed to happen, a Russia collusion hoax without one scintilla of probable cause to warrant an investigation, the definition of a witch hunt.
When was Barr confirmed? Just less than a year?
kindof steep timeline to expect charges already.
When was Mueller and his angry Democrats appointed? When were their first indictments?
