The thousands of people who descended upon the Jersey Shore town for President Donald Trump's 'Keep America Great' rally at the Wildwoods Convention Center left behind a sea of trash in the parking lot including their abandoned beach chairs and blankets after the rally wrapped up.
Rally-goers were allowed to bring chairs as they waited in line some for up to 48 hours before the event but they weren't allowed to bring them inside the venue.
Factor in the blankets they used to stay warm, and all their drinks and food they were snacking on during the long wait in the parking lot and the convention center ends up with a parking lot full of trash to deal with Wednesday morning.

Looks to me like the "authorities" failed to provide enough trash containers (surprise, surprise). At least I don't see many in those pictures, and the ones you do see are overflowing plus.
The “Jersey Shore” cast wasn’t even from NJ, and they admitted they were told to act out by the staff. Seaside Heights (where it was set) is gross, but that’s probably two hours north of Wildwood - completely different clientele. There are still “dry towns” along the shore, and probably more Pennsylvania people in Wildwood than Jerseyans - and they are different in a good way.
The shore closest to me in the north (Sandy Hook) is horrible; a Third World bunch that always leave garbage on the beach. As NJ and NY run out of money, more and more recreational areas have become “trash in, trash out” - you’re expected to take your trash with you. The foreigners at Sandy Hook just leave it there.
It is definitely worth a slightly longer drive, and slightly higher admission, to visit the American beaches further down.
I doubt this would have happened in Cape May.
More likely, its because its Wildwood.
Almost no trash cans and it looks like they tried to pile it - the trashcans I saw were full to overflowing.
I was at the 2nd Amendment rally in Richmond and I did not see one piece of litter or trash.
There was a minimum of trash receptacles for 100,000 people You could not take in blankets or chairs The blankets and chairs were collected and distributed to homeless shelters More deep state media hogwash from the Star Ledger.
Still no excuse. If you don't have a proper trash receptacle, then you take your trash out with you. Same rules as hiking wilderness areas. We Conservatives are better than this.
Holding pen area was closed off when we left, you lost whatever you couldn't take into the Rally.
There’s a reason why the PDRNJ (People’s Democratic Republic of New Jersey) is known as the Garbage State.
That said, it’s quite possible that the lack of proper trash containers was by design.
Spring Lake beach was heaven back in the day when it was just residents and their guests.
I think your explanation explains it. I took a second look at the pics and sure enough, the trash is full of collapsible chairs. People wouldn’t normally ditch those chairs like that. What apparently happened is just what you said — they unexpectedly had to leave the chair behind and probably a few trash items with it, both of which they had probably expected to carry out with them. Can’t say for sure, but my guess is despite these pics looking pretty bad, it would have been far worse had it been a leftist rally of some sort.
Watch the show. Its close to reality
Thanks for the invite but I feel I only get dumber when I watch TV.(especially reality TV.) LOL!
So, there were two spots; one in a parking lot, one outside. In the parking lot was people who were going into the venue, outside were people watching on jumbotron.
In the parking lot, the people were in a fenced area, and then escorted into the venue, and were not allowed to take their trash, chairs, or blankets. And after the rally, the parking lot was closed, and nobody could go into the parking lot to get anything they left.
Outside, the people were there through the rally, and were able to take their things and trash when they left.
THe parking lot was a mess the next day, but the outside venue was spotless.
BECAUSE the people were able to clean up the outside venue, but were prohibited from cleaning up the parking lot.
True - but we can’t verify the makeup of the overflow crowd where this happened.
We have a great record for cleaning up after ourselves - and a lot of that trash looked way bigger than what most folks generally carry in with them.
Were you there? Have you been to any Trump rallies?
This was not a demonstration. It was a rally, where people had to leave these things outside with nowhere to dispose of them.
"...BECAUSE the people were able to clean up the outside venue, but were prohibited from cleaning up the parking lot..."
Exactly right. The attendees left an uncharacteristic mess for reasons that the opportunistic media didn’t explain. The pattern for years has been that — unlike leftists — conservatives clean up after themselves. In this case there were circumstances that made that difficult or impossible. I consider this mystery solved and conservatives’ reputation for conscientiousness intact.
