With 1.5 Billion people these numbers are nothing
Ruh roh.
On a lighter note more than 200 people died by ricksaw accidents this week.
I have followed these things for years. This one seriously has my attention.
Still a small statistical universe, but the numbers are troubling.
Mortality rate holding around 2.2%, confirmed cases still growing exponentially. Eventually the number of cases will start to level off. Hopefully the mortality rate drops as the most vulnerable succumb. :( But we won’t know the real numbers for a week or two.
It’s going to burn itself out.
I am in Vietnam. I was just in America to visit family and do my taxes.
When I left America, NOBODY was wearing masks. Nobody.
When I got to Chicago, I saw some Asians in the airport, with masks. A few.
When I got on the plane, there were some people with masks. Some.
When I got to Asia, I still saw a lot of people without masks, but a lot with.
On the last flight there were a lot of masks. More than half.
When I got here to Ho Chi Minh, EVERYBODY was wearing masks. At every desk. Everyone.
The taxi driver. Everyone.
Not sure what will happen here with regard to progression, but I was glad to make it here, before the borders possibly start being impacted.
Stay aware. People you might want to locate some masks, because they will become VERY difficult to find there in the US soon.
Maybe also, think of getting a pair of goggles.
Not trying to over-react, but just pay attention.
Why should we accept and believe anything reported by the Chinese government? It is not quite a credible source.
