The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced Thursday that it has confirmed the first case of the coronavirus spreading from one person to another in the United States.
CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield told reporters Thursday that the latest case is the second reported in Chicago and is the spouse of the person who was the first to be diagnosed in the city. Still, Redfield said, the immediate risk of the virus to the public is low.

They need to have these people under quarantine. It would be the only way to have the information needed for sure. As far as bills for hospitalization, take the money from one of the NUMEROUS BS federal tax programs that the taxpayers are supporting and cover the hospital bills. Better yet, deduct the cost from every member of Congress supporting this false impeachment process.

The latest Lancet paper published today is a study in China of 99 patients with 2019-nCoV. ELEVEN percent died, most of multiple organ failures, and most succumbed very quickly after onset of symptoms.
It’s not “just a cold virus.”

The 14 information has been out there for a while. There is no excuse for our quarantine negligence thus far. Holding someone for up to two weeks isn’t long enough. It needs to be at least a couple of days longer if not a full three weeks.
How do they know that it’s a low risk?
They go through two weeks of being contagious before any symptoms show fer heaven’s sake.

I wouldn’t necessarily extrapolate the death rate of 11% from the 99 patient sample to the full population. Half of those 99 had extensive, long-term exposure to the “wet market” and (I’m guessing here) it may be possible that those people had different reactions from long-term exposure.
