Exactly. It’s like a POTUS thinking, “Hey, I think I’ll cut taxes, put more money in people’s pockets and boost the economy. Oh yeah, and that should help me get reelected.”

Not that I believe this now, but a vast large portion of vapid dumb masses seem to fit.
Yes that may be where they got the snippet. But it’s an important point. Few decisions are made for singular reasons (though Biden’s rational to blackmail Ukraine seems pretty straightforward).
The POTUS has many obligations, and has the right and duty to see that laws are faithfully executed and even that appropriations are going to be used as intended. Biden’s video opens up the question about Ukraine’s intent to use the funds properly. It was also a new government in Ukraine, POTUS has the right to get a feel for him before releasing the aid. POTUS has the right to ask about the actions of his predecessors for reasons of continuity and understanding - nobody should want a POTUS who makes decisions totally in the dark. In light of the Biden video, Trump had good reason to ask Zelensky to look into what really happened. And if Trump found something nefarious he could always ask Congress to rescind the aid. That is why they give a deadline off in the future - so POTUS can examine the use if aid, his foreign policy, and to give POTUS time to ask Congress to change the law.
Whether this also benefits Trump’s re-election chances is almost immaterial. Trump raised the issues in relation to the Dept of Justice. He asked Zelensky to talk to the AG.
Trump’s inquiry into Biden was perfectly legitimate in light of the video and the money his son made, and perfectly appropriate protocol in asking to refer any info to the DOJ. And if Biden is corrupt, exposing that is a benefit to the country and would be justice to expose.
The Dems/Schiff had to lie about the nature of the call, hide material witnesses, still hides the IC IG transcript about the WB report, hired the WB co-workers to the committee to protect them from testifying, refused GOP witnesses, refused a GOP question day, refused or interrupted GOP questions. All of this suggests prosecutor abuse and collusion. And, there was no assurance Biden will get the nomination. His status as a candidate for a party nomination gives him no immunity from investigation that he himself begged to be asked about by his video and his son’s millions of income.
In the end, the Ukraine aid money was not delayed or withheld it was released early and within terms of the law. There is simply no crime here at all.
This is an important point too. When Schiff was dismissing the fact that Obama withheld aid to Egypt, he said "the government had just been overthrown". I immediately thought "Effectively, so had the Government of Ukraine". Schiff was making Trump's argument for him. The "new government" argument also destroys Schiff's claim that Trump never pursued investigations in Ukraine before Biden was a candidate, as the corrupt Poroshenko was still in office until late June 2019.

I started using Twitter in 2009, looking for a source of news for the #IranElection phase. There was no other news source. For a while it worked and it looked like the revolt over the election stolen by the Mullahs. Until the Mullahs hired German technicians to hunt the cell phone users down. (they defeated US techies efforts hiding them using “haystack”)
I’ve used it as a good information media. It requires a big filter.

It is probably pointless to discuss this with you. This is the kind of discussion that should take place over a good meal and setting aside enough time to have a thoughtful conversation.
Personally, from all I’ve read and heard, this impeachment is some kind of tactic to avoid deeper investigation into corruption of all kinds. Everyone who testified in the House said Ukraine was incredibly corrupt. The Guardian UK calls Ukraine the most corrupt country in Europe.
There are lots of rumors and innuendo floating out there. Rudy G. claims evidence that billions in aid simply went to a handful of NGOs instead of to Ukraine. Ukraine cannot account for $11 billion in aid over a 2 year period supposedly earmarked for 100s projects which never got off the ground. The US Embassy coordinated with Soros groups to conduct their own investigations, and told Ukraine whom to prosecute and whom to let slide. Biden interfered. Burisma is the ultimate inside deal - the interior minister just gave himself the oil and gas rights and formed Burisma. He hired a bunch of Americans including Hunter as part of a protection racket. Biden just did what he was being paid to do in protecting Burisma.
Supposedly natural gas piped directly from Russia to Ukraine was billed to a UK firm run by 2 Americans who then added their vig and billed Ukraine. Total skimming scheme.
I could go on but just by looking at the reaction by the Democrats you can tell Trump has touched a nerve. What was really going on? Skimming, influence peddling, kickbacks, money laundering? And if it was happening in Ukraine who knows where else a serious look were to occur.
They accused Trump of Russia collusion but just look at the facts. Who sold them Uranium One? Who took massive payments for short speeches? Who were the biggest donors to the Clinton Foundation? Who arranged for US Tech firms to move to Skolvoko near Moscow where the tech was stolen by Russian industrial espionage? Who refused to give Ukraine lethal aid as they were being invaded by Russia in a war for territorial expansion? Who looked the other way as Russia simply walked 50,000 troops into Syria and giving them a toehold in the ME that Carter shut them out of at Camp David? Who gave Iran billions to spend on Russian infrastructure projects? Who had the “reset button” for Russia? Who paid foreign spies like Steele to pay off Russian spies for “dirt” on Trump”? And on and on it goes. Obama, Clinton & Kerry were the Russian agents.
Then Mueller comes along and doesn’t even look at any of that at all. It is all subterfuge, projection of their own betrayal of America for their own greed and power. This Ukraine Hoax is just more of the same, trying to keep Trump on the defensive.
I would much rather see the corruption in the Ukraine cause politicians behind bars for the rest of their lives. Multimillion dollar embezzling should not be handled with a quiet retirement.

I had this dream last night that President Trump was convicted and removed. Then the election was Biden vs Romney. Trump ran as an independent and won all 50 states but lost DC. Then I woke up.

I'm thinking Trump was careful to not denegrate either Biden in public with the suspected Ukraine corruption until he had more info..
The fact is if it hadn't been for Ciaramella (who had worked with VP Biden) getting wind about Trump's phone call with Zelenksy and filing the WB report, the Biden accusations may have never been made public. If there is nothing there, Zelensky would have found nothing.
For sure Trump if he ran against Biden, could still make insinuations about Hunter and influence peddling if nothing found from a Ukraine investigation.
