I see the initial clash of egomaniacs, maybe some coming thunder will indicate a bit of confusion, as time passes.

We’ve known for years the most dangerous place in DC is between Chucky and a camera.

He has no shame!!!

He says there's no check on how the House conducts impeachment. It has absolutely authority and it doesn't matter how it reaches a decision to impeach. Then they call Trump a King because he wants adjudication in an article 3 court.

The irony could squash him like a bug if dropped on his head.

In a way, the Trump team is subtly letting the House managers destroy their own case by droning on and on and repeating themselves over and over. The Senators have to know by now that the story is not going to change, and very little if any new information can be learned. This is already mop up time.

Gardener and Collins have been around long enough to overcome a ‘no witness’ vote. But if they vote for witnesses how will they overcome lack of republican votes. They need to consider that more... just like Kavanaugh.

“Gardner and Collins will be released to vote for witnesses due to their elections.”

Reported on Hannity radio show that Gardner announced that he was (at this time) against witnesses and prolonging the impeachment hearings.

-- Collins won't gain any democrat votes for her re-election if she votes for witnesses but will lose republican votes. --

I think she knows that. I think most of her dithering is based on wanted to stay friends with those on th eother side of the aisle. They want witnesses but she doesn't? She'd vote with them if she could afford the political hit back home.

Any position can be rationalized - the DEMs give you the argument, you don't even have to think. Not that the argument is worth spit, but there is always a way to take either side.

With all due respect the most dangerous place is between Nadler and a Krispy Kreme.

Gardner and Collins will be released to vote for witnesses due to their elections.

I don't believe anything that happens now will affect how their elections will turn out.

All that releasing them to vote with Democrats will do is give the Democrats the talking point that a bipartisan minority in Congress wanted witnesses, and that Republican calls for witnesses meant that even some Republicans didn't believe Trump's assertion that the charges didn't rise to the level of impeachable offenses.

No, that letter was sent on January 23rd, and was a standard letter in response to his request for review of his book. The response was that they found things that are classified, and would work with him to find and remove those, as quickly as possible.

This and the same for the Senator from Maine.

I saw chuckle do that a day or two ago, he stood behind the Republicans doing a presser and made faces. Jerk.

Then it’s over. Even Romney should fall in line so as not to appear bitter. He will not have anyone to hide behind. I suspect Manchin might also cross over. Their cover is ‘no impeachable offenses’ - for sure.

If Manchin VA and Jones AL vote to remove Trump they are history. Jones may well be history anyway since he is running this year.
