WaPo reporter calls on owner to publicly address handling of her suspension
The Hill ^ | 01 28 2020 | Zack Budryk

Washington Post reporter Felicia Sonmez spoke out Tuesday evening for the first time since her reinstatement, blasting the decision to suspend her for a series of tweets relating to rape allegations against Kobe Bryant.

Sonmez said in a statement shared on Twitter hours after her reinstatement that Post executive editor Marty Baron’s handling of the incident left her unconvinced of management’s commitment to the truth.

“I believe that Washington Post readers and employees, including myself, deserve to hear directly from Marty Baron on the newspaper’s handling of this matter,” Sonmez said in.

“Washington Post journalists endeavor to live up to the paper’s mission statement, which states, ‘The newspaper shall tell ALL the truth so far as it can learn it, concerning the important affairs of American and the world,’” Sonmez added.

“My suspension, and Mr. Baron’s Jan. 26 email warning me that my tweets about a matter of public record were ‘hurting this institution,’ have unfortunately sown confusion about the depth of management’s commitment to this goal."

I’m sorry what she did was very low, does not this stupid woman realize Mrs. Bryant lost her husband and child? Does she not care about Mrs. Bryant at all? And the other children and families involved?

Liberal white women are becoming a real problem. This dame should have been fired, straight up, via text message. Send in a friend to collect your personal belongings, or else we’ll put them out at the curb for you.

I’m not sure the public is edified by drudging up Bryant’s past as soon as he passed away. I didn’t approve of the things he seemed to be involved in, but I’m only talking about a short period of mourning.

After that, have at it.

This person didn’t use good judgement.

You know folks, when I was employed, I NEVER would have bad mouthed my employer in public. I may have had disagreements, but it was their business to run, and they should have run it as they saw fit.

This woman has been reinstated. She should shut the hell up.

A business doesn’t need a reason for firing or suspending. Most folks have signed a separation agreement upon employment, and either party can quit at any time they like.

The man and his 13 yr old daughter are dead.

No need to immediately bring up the negative.

But, that’s what F’ing liberal do.

Indeed. The data has shown that the primary driving force behind the SJW “woke” movement is wealthy yuppie urban/suburban white women. Think of the swamp creatures in Northern Virginia and other metros. These are the “Karens” who “want to see your manager” and who are pushing the SJW narrative.

These “women” are as far from real women as you can get. Most are hags and miserable creatures.

One could *very* reasonably assume that 1) he raped her 2) he paid her (a 19 year old hotel maid) a substantial sum in exchange for her silence and 3) gave his wife hugely expensive jewelry in exchange for *her* support.

That is surely *my* assumption.

The problem on the left is that they think somebody should be punished beyond their sentences. There may be room for discussion as to whether the sentences given for crime are adequate, but once somebody has faced justice, it is not anybody”s right to keep sentencing them for the rest of their life.

It is widely thought that Bryant settled the rape accusations against him for over $2.5 million. He was a heckuva ball player, no doubt about that. He had some questionable actions outside the sports arena. This should be remembered as he is lionized in death by many as if he had no faults.

It seemed like a low-class move on her part, but then I realized that the first FR thread announcing Bill Clinton’s passing will literally have dozens of references to Monica Lewinsky. LOL.

So this reporterette should place a live feed cam in her bedroom, and link to her newspaper?

One could also assume they had consensual sex. One could also assume she had had sex with someone else as the semen and pubic hair in her underwear at the time it was collected as evidence was not from Kobe.

But at the end of the day, he’s dead, he and his family had moved on, and whatever happened in Colorado was resolved at the Judgement seat of God.

Per Breitbart, he was a practicing Catholic.

Local news was doing a phone interview with a sports reporter whose beat was the Lakers. He was speaking glowingly of Bryant’s career until the local anchorette blind-sided him with “What can you tell us about Kobe’s personal side.” (Or a similar phrase)

The guy hesitated and digressed back into Bryant as a “competitive” before recovering enough to talk about how “playful” Bryant was with team-mates and members of the press.
