Sekulow is expressing correct amazement at the triviality of the actual “charges” against the President. Pause to aid, eventually delivered on time. A phone call in which the Ukrainian President said he felt no pressure.

Not only does a chief executive throw out thoughts to trusted advisors, he tailors the thoughts to the expertise of the advisor at the time. Those advisors don't know what other thoughts were expressed to other advisors.
So, if an advisor like Bolton puts in a book that President Trump wanted to tie aid to an investigation, he only knows the thoughts that were expressed to him. He wouldn't know if Trump asked someone else what if we don't tie aid to anything?
