Romney says 'increasingly likely' GOP senators will back witnesses at Trump trial after Bolton revelations

Sen. Mitt Romney said Monday it's "increasingly likely" there will be enough Republican senators to vote in favor of calling witnesses in President Donald Trump's Senate trial to compel their testimony after major revelations from a soon-to-be released book from former national security adviser John Bolton.

"I think, with the story that came out yesterday, it's increasingly apparent that it would be important to hear from John Bolton," the Republican senator from Utah told reporters in brief comments. He said he hasn't fully made up his mind on calling witnesses, but what Bolton has to say is "relevant" and "therefore I'd like to hear it."

"I think it's increasingly likely that other Republicans will join those of us who think we should hear from John Bolton," Romney said. "I've spoken with others who've opined upon this as well."

At least four Republicans would need to vote alongside all Democratic senators in order to secure new testimony, which could lengthen the trial.

I just turned the television on and Schumer is talking about Boston. Ughhhh............this is never-ending regarding witnesses.

As far as I am concerned, the House punted and did not do their job so screw it.

If Mitt Romney wants to hear from John Bolton, he can call him on the phone and invite him to a meeting.

How did someone as stupid as Romney become so successful? How many times do the Republicans need to get bunked by some anonymous leak that turns out not to be true?

Almost like it was planned........

as it almost surely was to give Romney and other corrupt republicans one last shot at deposing the President to be followed by deposition or fatal accident for the vice president so that Romney et al can get back to living comfortably under the ensuing communist/fascist Democrat regime without having to worry about elections ever again. Oh, there will continue to be elections but the outcomes will be foreordained.

How did this start? Not relevant. Well ARE the Biden’s corrupt? Not relevant. Bolton is writing a book! Completely relevant. He needs to testify!! Why is this scum in the Senate? Republicans need to vote out anyone who is supporting the coup! Lisa, Mitt, Susan. If you can stand with Trump on this then we don’t need you. Surely someone else can win in these states

So, no proof Bolton said it.

Maybe someone should ask him? Under oath?

MITT doesn’t appear capable of critical thinking Fact: investigation wasn’t announced and did not happen. Fact: aid released. what was discussed or not discussed irrelevant. actions are what count. i will be interested to see if POTUS legal team puts this away in next day or so. meanwhile people need to stop chasing after shiny things like the crazies!

It was planned. By Trump and the patriots. Bolton and Romney are role planning in exchange for life.

What’s so funny about all this is that Mitt Romney and John Bolton are almost universally despised among Trump supporters ... a fact that is certainly in the minds of other GOP Senators right now.

The Mittster is part of the Bush crime syndicate and though there was apparently a supposed truce between the Bush and Trump families after Poppy’s passing (e.g., Bush property Barr put in charge of DoJ), the Bush crime family continues to chip against it.

An utterance from RINOmney is regarded by folks on the right side of the Bell Curve as equivalent to a good smelly f*rt.
