No one who actually knew Dr. Bruce Ivins believes that. He happened to be an expert on anthrax who was instrumental in identifying the outbreaks. He was also a very nice man who always said hello, whether I ran into him in the breakroom or at the gym.
The FBI initially turned their sights on a postdoc, Steven Hatfill, and made his life miserable. He later sued and won for the harassment he endured. Later, the FBI returned to USAMRIID and made everyone very tense while they conducted another investigation. This time, they targeted Dr. Ivins. Their evidence was circumstantial, built on making a case out of behaviors that are common among scientists--like working "unusual" hours.
Yes, I do have insider knowledge here. I worked at RIID for four years.
I will just point out that while it is amusing to conspiracize about the coronavirus being a manmade bioweapon, our science is not at the level where we can actually design bioweapons. American science is way ahead of Chinese science. Nature is the best designer of killer microorganisms.

IF they can keep it from going wild outside of Wuhan (Wuhan itself is already lost)...then I suspect the government survives. If not, things turn ugly at the national level there.
But it IS very curious that a bio lab known to be studying the Novel Coronavirus is so close to the alleged source of the outbreak.
That doesn’t mean that there was a deliberate release of the virus. It would be foolish to rule out the possibility that the outbreak is related to the lab, at this point in time.

These kinds of virus can be neutralised by lowering your metabolism. The Chinese are high metabolic skinny horn dogs, hence the quick spread.

One thing you can say about the FBI with no doubt, if they do not have the evidence, they will fabricate it.
