The Virginia Department of Health is investigating three possible cases of the novel coronavirus.
The three patients, two in central Virginia and one in Northern Virginia, meet the clinical and epidemiologic criteria for the virus that's prompted China to put millions under quarantine, the Virginia Department of Health said Sunday.
The health department has not released more specific information about where the patients live, work or have traveled.

may be speculation, but it makes sense. The US is over-run with them and they travel back and forth at the drop of a hat.
Why does this not surprise me?
Did an employee intentionally take his work home with him?
No Virginian considers Richmond or C’ville “Central Va”.
Lynchburg is very likely. Seems like there’s another college, but can’t think of it. Maybe not.
I have read here and on other sites that the incubation time is 10-14 days.
flue=flew.
WHat did he say? I think he said diagonally.

Scary,Crap.
Many, many local governments and agencies in and around Charlottesville consider themselves part of Central Virginia. Some of them even have that term built into their name.
I dont know where you are getting your information from, but it is simply not accurate.
I live in central VA! I would like to know more!
To Bitman.
If you can stay where you are and not risk losing your job, stay.
I too live in the boonies, but my daughter goes to VCU so who knows what crap she is bringing home.
It’s in Western Virginia.
Always has been.
If you were evil, the prime place to release a pandemic virus would be Wuhan China. Hub of China, once it’s spread to China it’s everywhere else too.
I am half way between Richmond and C’ville, I think I will just stay home next week. I have plenty to do at home.
I have been corresponding with multiple posters on this board, all of whom think that Cville is part of Central Virginia. The other side of Afton Mountain, ie rhe Shenandoah Valley, is where Western Virginia starts.
And by the way, you can verify what localities the VEDP recognizes as constituting Central Virginia here:

Well, it’s not a ‘cause celeb’ with me.
I’m an old Virginian and that’s what I think.
Carry me out of old Virginny
Thanks for the heads up.
Charlottesville could still be one of the cases. Just NorVa instead of CVa.
Not sure about the Chinese in Richmond but there is University of Richmond, VCU, VCU Medical as well as some other colleges.
Anywhere there are colleges you have to expect foreign students.
Honestly I would probably refrain from going g to the rally myself, at least any rally withing the next few weeks. We really don’t have accurate info on RO at this point. We also don’t have accurate info on how many are infected. If just 1 person has been infected and attends that could spell disaster for future events.
Via twitter, one of the unconfirmed cases is a Chinese student at George Mason University in Arlington.
That leaves the two cases in Central Virginia tbd.
