Medium to long term SC is trending purple due to transplants. Graham knows Trump voters will pull him over the line in 2020. If he wants to run again in six years and rely more so on Democrat votes he will do it. So I believe he will never substantively support POTUS against the coup because that could haunt him with Democrats later.

Sadly, Big money eliminates any early republican challengers to Limpsey before the South Carolina Republican primary.
Any Challenger who survived to the primary is dispatched by democrats crossing over to vote for Limpsey.
