HAVE I EARNED TOMORROW?

Is anybody happier because you passed this way?
Does anybody remember that you spoke to them today?

The day is almost over and its toiling time is through:
Is there anyone to utter now a kindly word of you?

Can you say tonight in parting with the day that's slipping fast,
That you helped a single person of the many that you passed?

Is a single heart rejoicing over what you did or said?
Does the one whose hopes were fading now with courage look ahead?

Did you waste the day or use it? Was it well or sorely spent?
Did you leave a trail of kindness or a scar of discontent?

As you close your eyes in slumber, do you think that God will say:
YOU have earned one more tomorrow by what you did today?

Ann Landers

LOL! Thanks. We might need it at this rate.

At least this system isn’t very robust and we aren’t supposed to get much. But we really could use a week, minimum, with no rain at all. There’s a lot of standing water all over the area.

Aw, poor Gizmo. Wanted to make new friends and was held back. LOL
It sounds like he had a great time, any way, dragging you across the rocks and through the tall grass.

Nice that you’ll see your sisters next week. Something to look forward to.

((LOL)) Yep, He was barking and wanting to go out as I typed the last message. It’s not as cold as the last few days. We’ve had some rain around us but that was about it. Rather unusual for this time of year.

Good morning, E...((HUGS))...a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.

Hope you and Gizmo are having good weather for getting out and playing.

Have a great Sunday. I’m working on staying inside and warm. It is -9.8 right now.

Lucky you! I wish it would warm up a little bit here, though it isn’t frigid like earlier in the week.
Can’t blame the lil feller for wanting to get out to enjoy it while it’s not too uncomfortable.

Lucky, also, to miss out on some of the rain. Wish we could be so lucky. We’ll have to start scraping moss off our bodies before long. LOL

Amazing Grace
(Click)

By John Newton

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.

'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed!

Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures;
He will my Shield and Portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, Who called me here below,
Will be forever mine.

When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.

"I VOW TO THEE, my country, all earthly things above,
Entire and whole and perfect, the service of my love;
The love that asks no question, the love that stands the test,
That lays upon the altar the dearest and the best;
The love that never falters, the love that pays the price,
The love that makes undaunted the final sacrifice.

And there's another country, I've heard of long ago,
Most dear to them that love her, most great to them that know;
We may not count her armies, we may not see her King;
Her fortress is a faithful heart, her pride is suffering;
And soul by soul and silently her shining bounds increase,
And her ways are ways of gentleness, and all her paths are peace."

GOSPEL FOR THE THIRD SUNDAY
IN ORDINARY TIME

OW after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God,

And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
Now as he walked by the sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and Andrew his brother casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.

And Jesus said unto them, Come ye after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men.

And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed him.

And when he had gone a little farther thence, he saw James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, who also were in the ship mending their nets.

And straightway he called them: and they left their father Zebedee in the ship with the hired servants, and went after him.
