Trump Rolls Back 'One of the Most Ridiculous Regulations of All' from Obama Era (WOTUS)

The Environmental Protection Agency finalized a rule Thursday afternoon scaling back an Obama-era regulation farmers and energy producers claimed saddled them with unnecessary burdens.

EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler announced the rule change in Las Vegas, effectively hemming in a regulation restricting the use of fertilizers and pesticides.

President Donald Trump promised to repeal his predecessor’s “Waters of the United States” policy when he was running in 2016.

Rolling back WOTUS saves landowners, farmers and businesses from being forced to hire “teams of attorneys to tell them how to use their own land,” Wheeler told reporters at a meeting of the National Association of Home Builders.

The rollback is one of many the president is administering.

“I terminated one of the most ridiculous regulations of all: the last administration’s disastrous Waters of the United States rule,” Trump told the American Farm Bureau Federation’s annual convention Sunday.

Your mud puddles are now safe from the navigable rivers issue. Dry creek beds can now have water in them again. So, those that were prosecuted under the WOTUS BS, will they be made whole? Can they build their holding ponds again? There is a poll at the site as well.

I appreciate what Trump is doing, but just like every massive DC, unlimited debt-funded bureaucracy from the intelligence community to EPA to Dept of Education - the entire apparatus remains in place, to simply be cranked-up again the next time a destructive socialist is elected to the Presidency.

know-nothing children

Oh, the children knew *exactly* what they were doing. They were delivering death to this country by thousands and thousands of cuts.

Some of the puddles you'll see in the near future are Obamabots peeing their pants in their upset.

I have a small Indian stream on some land I own. In the Summer there’s a trickle of water, even when it’s in the 90s. I have horses on the ground, and thought, wouldn’t it be smart to dam up one end of this here little creek, and when it rains, plus the little water flow already there, they’ll be ample water for the horse, not to mention to irrigate the vegetation.

Of course, I was told I could NOT do this by some bureaucrat, when I asked if I could do this.

I assume now that I can?

You wrote a good comment:

“I feel like adults are back in charge instead of idealistic know-nothing children.”

But why did you preface it with “I feel like”? A completely true and accurate statement of fact is:

“The adults are back in charge instead of idealistic know-nothing children.”

Agreed, I did not need a qualifier. Adults are back in charge - full stop.

“There are so many laws that no one is safe from hanging.”

“Men are more easily governed through their vices than through their virtues.”

- Napoleon Bonaparte

The real reasons for Obama’s proliferation of law and regulation. Tripping people up on obscure law and regulations is a way to control.

Doesn’t the change have support in a Supreme Court decision that the Democrats tried to ignore?

Exactly. And they can take their shop of horrors out of the box a lot faster than we can put it back in.
