Eleven years here, also. Wish I had stayed just one more year to change my Crow and hash marks to gold. Actually was planning on at least 20 years, but my rating was closing up so Chief was to far out and took a great civilian opportunity. See my post above about the poster’s disparaging remark.
I don’t think calling out another’s stupidity is being sensitive. Navy Vet is just stating facts.

We at our VFW host 40 recruits from Great Lakes every Christmas at our Post. We bring them to and from the base.
They always hav great meals , tons of food free use of laptops, phones and have big screen TVs to watch.
We get letters and calls from parents that say they can’t thank us veterans enough for doing that for their sons or daughters.
