For an advocate, it is a coup when the judge rules that harmful testimony is excluded. But such rulings always come with a warning label: Don’t open the door. That is, don’t do anything that makes the otherwise irrelevant evidence relevant.

You can’t hide in your happy shell of self-confirming relationships becuase the folks who you don’t know or associate with will make you care. If you lived in Virginia where they are attempting to make it a crime to call the Governor an “A## ##LE” you end up dealing with these people directly or at the wrong end of a gun barrel held by a police officer just doing his job.
I have clients who are conservatives but I also have clients who are big time Democrat donors. I go to school with a bunch of folks who wept and held vigils when Trump was elected. Its not like I am changing their minds, but I am resisting the bits of “bat shit crazy” that I can. I find myself facing the “anti-patriarchy” speaches by saying. “I am a patriarch.” Because, I am. I have grandkids and I love them. My thoughts keep going to “What am I doing for this next generation” as this is where old guy noodles go when they love. Hating patriarchs is just as bad as hating husbands. I call them on it. I call them on “white privilige” because I grew up as a poor dirt farmer’s boy. Saying such things is just racism by narcissistic reflection, but it is just racism when you get down to it and I call them on this.. just the same.
I haven’t found the secret key but mostly it seems to begin by busting the frame they suppose in their name calling. This is why they HATE Trump.. he owns their name calling and calls them names back.

Yes, and they knew it going in. This is why the Republicans didn’t attempt this for Obama who was clearly dirty on so many levels.
Many folks say they are charging the President with the crimes they committed themselves to get it into the record that these crimes “aren’t so bad.” The deal is to undercut the impact of Spygate when it hits the fan in the “real legal system.”
If they could down Bernie too, then they would likely get their coveted female candidate, which they lost with last time, but which they feel they need for democraphic reasons (centrist suburban women, mainly) and they don’t have to worry about losing out because Bernie’s long and undeniable history of promoting socialism. There could be no turn to the middle with him after he gets nominated.
The biggest fear they have about losing Biden is Bernie. So they are starting to worry that they need to ditch Biden now and push Warren and Bloomberg.

this whole biden/bernie thing is setting up for a brokered convention that pops out the DNC progs “coveted female candidate”, the hildabeast.

Probably. What I don’t get is why Hillary would want to take on Trump again, especially with all of his wins over the last three+ years. In 2016, he was an unknown so she had a chance, but now ... WTH is she THINKING? How masochistic can one person be?
The only thing that makes sense is that they’ve figured out a fool-proof way to “win” by cheating.
I agree with the first three, but not the fourth. They are highlighting the corruption of Biden and the whole Democrat field. Biden, Biden, Biden.. no one would have known about this whole deal except for the Whistleblower’s making it a front and center issue. That’s the whole odd of this. Why get nuts over the Ukrainians investigating the Bidens.. because they had been already since last January. Its not news because the MSM says, this is not news.. except if you make it the cornerstone of a Presidential Impeachment case.. then it is FRONT AND CENTER. Bad way to cover up something, don’t you think?
The impact of this however is to slow the confirmation of Conservative judges.. and this might be the real deal. But, it is hard to see the win conditions for thee folks if they don’t actually accomplish removing Trump, which they can’t. The whole game has to have some meaning and it isn’t clear yet.
I have never seen this argument work. They label it “What about...” and then dismiss it. Our complaint is that the rules seem to be a one way street. And, they say, “So?” As if, this is the way it “should be.”
So, no.. that won’t work.
There aren’t going to be any witnesses. I think Schiff and company are pressing for the Senate to dismiss so they can block the Defense presentation. I think perhaps that’s why Nadler purposely offended the Senate as an institution.
One of the guys who fits this class of friends for me, (He is now deceased) was a huge supporter of Cindy Sheehan. I was going to get into an argument with him and I thought better of it and suggested we instead just find another topic. This turns out to be the smartest move I ever made. He was like a Grandfater to my youngest daughter and a huge aid when she was in real trouble.. and I didn’t know where to turn. And, when I needed to borrow a truck to carry flags to a Patriot Guard function, he handed over his keys without a blink.
This game of burning off friendships because of politics.. not smart.. not smart at all. I never changed his mind or vote but we found much in common outside of this and I don’t regret it at all.

Sandmann did and it is making a difference. There are organizations that do just this.. fight these battles and we need to donate to fund them. This makes a huge difference. Think of the where we would be today without Judicial Watch? Veritas? FIRE? Lots of places to put your money where your mouth is..

Also stopping the Senate from confirming more judges. ..
...stopping any Trump agenda that needs the Senate. Like when RGB kicks it.
...also setting up a sure fire brokered DNC convention with Hillary taking the prize. ...and with the promise of Bloombergs billions, Hillary can rest up, make all her TV ads, gather her team, etc...
The rat party is a party that plans ahead. Years ahead. They have a reason. A very dark and sinister one to be sure.
Likely deliberately IMHO.
The Dems are in a quandary. Like the Pubbies they play the “it’s his/her turn” game when it comes to the nomination. And it’s his turn.
But he’s a sure fire-loser for several reasons.
1) The stench of his corruption is growing too strong even for Democrats to keep ignoring.
2) Their cadre of young core voters regard him as a fossil and a corporate sellout. They are all-in on Bernie and Fauxahontas.
3) His #MeToo vulnerabilities are also too pervasive to be ignored.
4) The pistons in his brain are misfiring more by the day, and having him out there on the campaign trail is just too much of a high-risk proposition.
So this may all be a sophisticated takedown of Biden. One that will point the blame at Republicans and keep Dem fingerprints off of it.
