Prosecution witness asks judge not to send Roger Stone to prison

A longtime associate of Roger Stone is urging a federal judge not to send him to prison following the right-wing political operative's conviction on seven counts of lying to Congress and witness tampering.

Randy Credico, an activist and radio host who's known Stone for years, was on the receiving end of the witness tampering. Evidence introduced by prosecutors during trial showed Stone repeatedly — and often with vulgar language — threatened Credico to not cooperate with a congressional investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

But in a letter to D.C. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson, an Obama appointee, on Thursday, Credico said that he did not take any of those threats seriously and that he believes Stone does not deserve to go to prison.

"I understand that Roger Stone has broken federal laws, but a prison sentence is beyond what is required in this case," Credico wrote. "It is not justice. It is cruelty."

Stone was convicted of lying to Congress about his role as a liaison between the Trump campaign and WikiLeaks in 2016, as the organization was releasing damaging information hacked from the Democratic Party and the Clinton campaign.

The government took a personal spat between former friends and turned it into a means to go after a Trump associate.

Randy Credico discovered he had an ounce of integrity in him. A bit late but good for him. Maybe he can mitigate the damage though I doubt it. The government wants to crush anyone associated with Trump.

I think Credico hit on the right word for what we see has been happening during this witch hunt. The word is not “justice,” it is “cruelty.” Maybe, and I know I am being hopeful, just maybe some of these Federal Judges will start realizing that.

I meant all the days Schiff has lied to Congress.

And he is appointed a House Manager to lie some more?

Where is the Sargent at Arms to oust him from the Senate Chamber?

Where is one Senator to stand up and call him a liar?

I agree 100%.

Start with Schitt for brains telling us he had all the evidence of Trumps collusion with the Russians.

It doesn't matter, since he was never under oath when lied.

How the lying to get the FISA warrants? Pffft. No charges. How about changing a 302? No charges.

The Judge will send him to prison.

The House has an Official Code of Conduct:

RULES OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES - 116th CONGRESS

Rule XXIII - Code Of Official Conduct
There is hereby established by and for the House the following code of conduct, to be known as the “Code of Official Conduct”:

1. A Member, Delegate, Resident Commissioner, officer, or employee of the House shall behave at all times in a manner that shall reflect creditably on
the House.
__________________________________________________________________________

I would think the blatant, non stop documented lying would not “reflect creditably on the House”.

It looks like the least that the republicans could do is file an ethics complaint documenting the shameless lying behavior for the historical record.
