The attendees' acceptance of Trump is all the more surprising given the theme of this year's annual WEF meeting: "Stakeholders for a Cohesive and Sustainable World."
Trump, after all, is a climate-change denier, although he seems to have kept his denial under wraps in his prepared address. He limited his barbs at environmentalists (https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings-statements/remarks-president-trump-world-economic-forum-davos-switzerland/) to urging a rejection of "the perennial prophets of doom and their predictions of the apocalypse," including "an overpopulation crisis in the 1960s, mass starvation in the '70s and an end of oil in the 1990s."
The change of heart toward Trump may have something to do with the 2020 alternatives, according to The New York Times' Annie Karni, David Gelles and Peter Baker.
With progressives like Democratic presidential candidates Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren "emerging as top-tier possibilities for nomination, a crowd that once rejected Mr. Trump is now more willing to consider him one of its own," the reporters write in a page one story in Wednesday's New York Times.
In other words, Trump didn't get better, but the alternatives look even worse.

Partisan Media Shills update.
In other words, Trump didn't get better, but the alternatives look even worse.
In other words, once a partisan media shill, always a partisan media shill.
And let's not forget this grifting, lying, pedo SOB:
WATCH: Joe Biden Brags About Rigging The Ukranian Political System
I don’t buy it.
Sanders or Warren would be no worse than the Socialist shills who run the show wherever they’re living.
Consider this - Trump has made them the most money of any U.S. President as most of Davos is likely heavily invested in our stock market and industry.
The leading democrat contenders would cost them the most money.
Davos is about the benjamins.
I loved that he pointed out the truth of the doom and gloom predictions in the past as these are the basis for the green movement that has dominated such gatherings on the world stage for years.
Will be interested to hear Maria’s take of it all on Fox Business.
As long as Trump doesn’t “warm” to the Elitists.
>>>Trump, after all, is a climate-change denier<<<
Wrong. POTUS Trump is a Manmade Climate Change denier as am I.
The Climate has been changing on Earth since its beginning, and it always will.
That 3,000 foot thick Glacier that used to sit where the City of Chicago now stands didn’t melt because of Mankind or even Wooly Mammoth Farts.
I notice since Trump went to Davos this year, the media downplayed its importance and generically glossed over it as an “economic meeting.”
They don’t miss a trick.
Your pic is racist!!
Nice try media.
The Davos guys are all billionaires like Trump except Theyve never done Shiite unlike President Trump is build giant skyscrapers all over the world
Furthermore they all like making money and they know that our great president is going to be able to make the economy of the United States so strong that theyll all be able to make hell of more money
You dripped some paranoia on your bib, there, BM.
Our POTUS wanted and got an income tax cut that's good for the duration of both his terms; he's cut regulation; he's getting the border wall built. Sanders and Warren and every other Demwit wants the boot back on our necks, and that starts with a tax increase, and a welfare increase for the millions of illegals they plan to bus into the US. To say there's no difference is just nuts.
Hardly, but given that slur's employment these days, I can live with it.
When all are condemned, none are condemned . . .
;-)
Trump didn’t get better, but the alternatives look even worse.
Life in the real world, not the politician’s imaginary and BS world.
Again, reality versus political bs posing as reality:
Consider this - Trump has made them the most money of any U.S. President as most of Davos is likely heavily invested in our stock market and industry.
The leading democrat contenders would cost them the most money.
Davos is about the Benjamins.
Warren and Sanders hearken back to old solutions tried and failed so often they’re punchline to stale jokes.
Even the folks at Davos get that truth...
I saw the headline and assumed the Bee.
The term "recoiling" is a violent, assautl-weapon-related term, and will be banned from public use during the Sanders-Warren administration...
Sanders and Warren are also-rans. Bloominidiot won't catch him. Biden brings the black votes the others can't get, and that cancels out his VP pick -- Buttplug. The Biden-Buttigieg ticket will leave the convention and spiral down to November.
