I remember, soon after that hurricane departed, there was some type worker strike by the docks. All the food we sent was left to rot and was tossed.

I doubt if supplies were hidden. It’s incompetence. Especially when he left is in charge. Reminds me of the Ms. Gov. during Katrina.

Yes, the strike was pushed by the Democrats so they could blame Trump for lousy aid distribution.

“I remember, soon after that hurricane departed, there was some type worker strike by the docks.”

That claim was hotly contested by our MSM, Snopes, etc., all saying the problem was because less than 20% of truck drivers returned to work.

But... “According to the local TV station WAPA, the strike is over a recently passed law: “el proyecto del Senado 525 que da paso a la Ley de Transformación Administrativa de la Comisión de Servicio Público,” also called “el Proyecto del Senado 525.””

https://m.theepochtimes.com/puerto-rico-union-allegedly-refuses-to-deliver-us-aid-on-strike-because-of-local-law_2324073.html

So, were 80% of PR truck drivers unable, or unwilling, to help their own people after such a disaster? Hmm...

Too much food we send ends up that way.

Like the food sent to African countries where warlords either hoard it or let it rot.

America is incredibly generous but we can’t also go to war to make sure the food gets to the right people.

Yes, when Puerto Ricans were suffering and some even dying, many were volunteering, sacrificing their own time, labor and money. The US military and Coast Guard were busting their ass, risking their lives and leaving their families home alone to rescue and deliver aid to victims. President Trump pledged our help, and rushed aid to help these people. The American people opened their hearts and wallets to help, or even traveled there to assist.

Meanwhile in Puerto Rico, Union Dock Workers saw an opportunity to make more money, holding aid supplies hostage. Politicians saw an opportunity to score political points for themselves and against Trump. Bureaucrats saw an opportunity to rake in bribes while ignoring those in need.

And there are those who think Puerto Rico should be a state...
