On the same day the senators were sworn in for the impeachment trial, I was in my favorite coffee shop in the progressive Chicago neighborhood where I live (the fifth most liberal ZIP code in the country). Many suffer from especially bad cases of Trump Derangement Syndrome here, as I've recounted in these pages over the past few years.
At the table next to me, a young couple was talking loudly about impeachment. The man expressed excitement that the trial was finally underway, because "he will soon be gone." The woman was trying to explain to him that, contrary to his understanding, it takes 67 senators, not a simple majority, to remove a president from office. I wanted to chime in that, in fact, the Democrats will be lucky to hold their own caucus (47) together. But I decided not to add to the man's obvious misery.

Trump may be able to pull it off, but Romney and his merry band of 5 or 6 will do their damnedest to hurt reelection by voting with the dems in the trial to stop his reelection chances. I think Romney will be able to deliver enough votes for witnesses and new evidence throughout the trial and also to show a bipartisan majority for conviction, but it will be far short of 67 needed for conviction.
I hope like hell Trump wins the popular vote since Colorado decided the popular vote gets Colorado’s electoral votes.

The next time they gain the White House, House and Senate, they will go full Stalin/Hitler on our asses.
They will make this coup attempt look like child’s play.
The Republicans need to retake control of the House and retain control of the Senate or Congress will waste all of its and the President’s time with investigation after investigation after investigation.
It is critically important that the Republicans hold on to the Senate, or no more Trump judicial confirmations.

Their pain does not concern me, but I expect there will be some serious civil unrest beyond anything seen recently.

Going to do some research on if there are any recovery stories about TDS patients ...
I don’t hold out much hope for my lib friends .... most are attorneys who already believe they should be judges.
Definitely need a complete restructure. FBI, CIA, EPA, DOE all worthless organizations causing more problems and solving few if any.
Conservatives acknowledge good or bad and when one of our own does something wrong, we let them know. If a Lib does something wrong, they don’t care and at most will make excuses for them.
So it follows that they would not acknowledge anything good when it comes to those on our side. It really is a sickness.

I use to find this funny the tds..but no more.. Trump has done such a good job.. the fact that that A good half of our country is so insanely irrational is actually terrifying.
