The group organizing today's gun rally in Richmond, Virginia has issued a last minute alert warning of threats against its speakers.

The cops were intimidated. You could see/feel it.
Interesting. I watched the rally for hours on several different live streams, and most people looked pretty comfortable, even though they were bundled up.
It was bad. The wind was the problem. I was ok when walking but standing still was brutal.
We were just discussing that on another thread.
Too many people on our side kept warning everyone about the potential for violence, in the days and weeks leading up to the rally.
I'm surprised the attendance was as good as it was.
No the official definition of a US Division is comprised of three brigades or up to possibly 4 and are not regiments. Each brigade is from 5 to 6000+ or up to 9000+ each. They are further subdivided into battalions then companies! Done lots or work in Army and Marine Corps so I know. There is a big unit which is used alot today called a Armored Calvary Regiment which can operate independently or as another brigade with a division.
Yes so did I and I am seasoned NS pro and the live feeds you saw were at ground level and impossible for you to make an estimate. You got no complete overall picture. Physical security is one of my specialties so I can tell the difference.
DarthVader,
Keep me posted please on what you find out. I am very interested to know.
Thank you for your analysis.
We watched the same feeds, but only you can correctly interpret them, because you're a "pro"? Hahahaha!
Pulling the Authoritah card means you lose. Hope you know that ;-)
Listen here JO I have more experience than you do and know what I am looking at. I have detailed knowledge of all types of sensors and surveillance equipment. I know their limitations and characteristics from several years working in combat, force protection and physical security situations going back to 1991. You might not like getting technically lectured by an SME but that is just too bad. There are restrictions that are imposed on the media because of the military nature of the security operations that were used today.
I will and will try to get an accurate estimate of the headcount from some of my buddies who may have worked this today.
There seemed to be people on both sides warning people not to show up. Was surprised to see conservatives telling people to surrender their fist amendment due to threats. I hope not too many listened to their BS.
Iran “encouraged” millions of government employees to attend Soliemani’s funeral. For the anti-Ayatollah demonstration, they had government snipers.
Thank you.
encouraged, as in we’ll throw yer family into a wood chipper if you don’t...
MSNBC says Soliemani was a revered figure like Elvis. I don’t think they had to threaten people to come to see Elvis.
100%
Great to know!
My local news actually showed an aerial shot of the crowd and it looked so good!
THanks.
My local news announcer (Durham, NC) estimated the crowd at 23,000.
way less now....in my federal work...maybe 2% libertaian
and 2% conservative.
That s it.
You keep saying that there was a military presence in Richmond today.
What kind of military presence was there other than the e.w. aircraft?
Were there boots on the ground?
