TULSA, Okla. — Former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg will announce on Sunday his presidential campaign’s plan aimed at bolstering economic opportunity for black Americans, promising to triple their income over the next decade, but stopping short of promising reparations.

The announcement comes as the billionaire continues to face questions about the controversial "stop-and-frisk" police tactic he endorsed as mayor, and as he seeks to build support among African-Americans, a key voting bloc in the Democratic primary.

I want to see Bloomberg walk in any black neighborhood at night without bodyguards—and no carrying a weapon.

That would be a great “teaching moment” for him!

If he was sincere he could give out of his personal wealth to each African American man, woman and child (about 37 million people in US) $1500 each (it would add up to $6k for a family of 4) and that would still leave Bloomberg with a cool $5 billion but he won’t will he

Most [real] adults know that if you give people money they haven’t earned, it is highly likely they will just pi$$ it away.

Ayn Rand had a great way of putting it. She said: “If a man is not equal to his money, it will just flow through his fingers, out of his family forever.” Her point is that money is a moral force. If you are equal to it (or better), you can keep it and probably make it grow. If you are not equal to it, at best you will lose it. At worst, it will destroy you.

You see this in play with random people who win the lottery. Often you come back in 2-3 years, and they have nothing left despite winning millions. There was one article I read a decade or so back about some Yahoo who won $200M. He mostly spent his time going to strip clubs. He also gave his granddaughter a big allowance, which she used to buy heroin that she ended up ODing on. Very sad.

Vote buying. Ask African-Americans how any of the Democraps promises have worked out for them once they gave up their votes...

That’s roughly $2000 per black person.

It’s a drop in the bucket compared to the costs of affirmative action and other racially favored programs over the years.

...opportunity for black Americans, promising to triple their income over the next decade...

We can't over-promise' because the thug arm of the democrat party (the press) would hold us to promises not kept.

Bloomy's not held to that standard. The press allows democrats to make promises to the black community they have NO INTENTION of keeping. Often the same promises are made every four years... with a straight face. How do they get away with this? The hidden rule is 'ONLY DEMOCRATS ARE ALLOWED TO PLAY THE BLACK COMMUNITY FOR FOOLS'...

So good luck getting wealth increased by a factor of three... and YEAH, Trump DID bring real jobs to the black community and he's working at stopping illegals from stealing jobs by working under the table.
