When someone is murdered by a released criminal let out on no-bail is when it will come to a rolling boil.

It’s unfortunate that someone will have to die, but that’s usually what it take.

I can remember in the 70s when I lived in the Bay Area. Organized shoplifters would have trunk sales on street corners— literally out of the trunks of their cars— of stolen goods with store price tags still on them.

I was once approached by a guy carrying a stereo speaker under each arm. When I told him no, he opened up his trenchcoat & he had a bunch of lacy brassieres pinned to the linings.
But these guys were very few and only in a couple of locations. Probably at every flea market now, off the charts.

OTOH, now you could probably just steal stuff back from the thieves. What they gonna do, call the cops?
