Impeachment Is Now Sacred?

Just 10 months ago, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi proclaimed that an impeachment of President Donald Trump would not happen unless there was "something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan." The House vote to impeach Trump was the dictionary definition of partisan -- not a single Republican voted yes. There is nothing compelling and overwhelming here.

But our pro-impeachment media are investing as much moral authority in Pelosi's putsch as they can muster. During live coverage of the vote on Dec. 18, MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell gushed over Pelosi's black outfit. "She's certainly always well-appointed, beautifully arrayed, if you will," she said. "She's wearing black today. And that is a symbolic expression of how somberly they are taking this." Chris Matthews added: "It's sacramental. ... It's sacramental."

Sacramental? Matthews returned to this ridiculous concept on Jan. 15 when the House Democrats made a dramatic show for the cameras by marching their articles of impeachment to the Senate. Matthews told Chuck Todd: "There's a sacramental quality to this. There's a ritual."

MSNBC reporter Garrett Haake affirmed this, adding: "I'm so glad Chris used the word 'ritual' because that's the word that has been stuck in my head about this all day today. It's beyond formality. ... There is something almost religious to it."

A few minutes later, Matthews suggested, "there's an excommunication aspect to this thing." Todd replied: "you are really taking this Catholic metaphor and going at it! Run, Chris, run!" Matthews then added, "the Lincoln Memorial is basically a church."

As Speaker Pelosi was shown on screen about to sign the impeachment articles, Matthews returned to churchy metaphors, and things were getting truly wacky. He said: "Well, there's a sacramental statement for life -- like a priest for life. It's a perfect statement of what she is. I think she is very reverential. I mean, she's one tough politician, but she's got another part of her, which is very respectful of hierarchy, in terms of who -- true moral authority. The Democratic elected officials have true moral authority to run the country."

All of these mangled metaphors ignore Pelosi's crusades for abortion on demand and punitive LGBT "anti-discrimination" measures to crush religious liberty, all of which are in direct conflict with Catholic teaching. Her political career has been a war with her alleged religious affiliation.

This praise is goofball stuff, and at least one celebrated liberal Catholic was having fun with all the Pelosi parades. On CBS' "Late Show," Stephen Colbert put on dramatic lighting and joked: "First, each member of Congress steps forward to seal the text with a single drop of blood. Then, the sacred runes are drawn from beneath Jerrold Nadler's jowls, and lo, a snow-white ram is brought forth to pluck the maidenhead of Adam Schiff."

(Then, as expected, he mocked Sen. Mitch McConnell as a hideous demon to keep it acceptable to his fans.)

Impeachment is in no way a sacred act, and it carries no moral authority. But our pro-impeachment media are employing every sappy metaphor to achieve their fervent desire: dragging President Trump out of the White House and throwing him into the pyre.

There is nothing compelling and overwhelming here.

What's compelling and overwhelming here is President Trump's adherence to the law.

The funds were released in the allotted time frame in accordance with the U.S. Ukraine Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty.

That treaty was signed by Bill Clinton when Joe Biden was a Senator.

The word that comes to my mind is “vandalism”.

The Nanzi gang is ultimately no different than someone who sees a nice car in a parking lot, a car the likes of which they could never have, due either to bad luck or bad choices, and then “keys” it or slashes the tires out of jealousy.

Watching Justice Roberts administer the oath to the Senators yesterday. He had the wrong people. He needs to administer the oath to the House managers. Then when Adam Schiff starts spewing his fiction, they can proceed to a prosecution of pencil neck.

All these political maneuvers and show trials seem religious to them because their god is of this world, and Pelosi is trying to act like it’s a funeral. They can’t tell the difference between death and religion, it seems. If Democrats have the moral authority to run the country, it’s because the morality of this world is a lie, a mockery of true morality that is above it.

"There's a sacramental quality to this. There's a ritual."

The Democrats worship Satan.

Impeachment is not sacred, in fact it has been trashed and dragged through the virtual mud. Impeachment is now no more meaningful than "racism."

Leftists have so over-used racism in so many obviously inappropriate contexts that the pejorative now lacks any sting. In fact it is practically a badge of honor among conservatives and freedom & liberty loving people. If you don't get labeled a racist at least once a week you're conservative/freedom/liberty credentials get called into question. Don't worry, the leftist fascists make it easy to collect racism/racist tokens. With apologies to Jeff Foxworthy:

...you might be a racist. Or at least somewhere there is a MSM talking head, POS celebrity (looking at you DeNiro), or leftist/fascist politician branding whole groups listed above as racist on a weekly basis. They can't help themselves, they have to in order to re-establish or maintain their libtard credentials in their own twisted minds.

Pelosi and her pack of rats and democrats have now cheapened impeachment, once an almost unthinkably serious affair, to the level of fodder for stand up comedy and memes. They've been talking about it, salivating over it, pushing for it, having wet dreams about it - literally for years. Then they finally summon the courage (or desperation) to do it, and they can't help themselves. Their giddy rush through the process has all fairness of a KGB inquiry and all the grace of a badly written sitcom. Pelosi wakes up the next virtual morning with an impeachment hangover, looks at the one night stand she's created next to her and recoils. In contrast to their near orgasmic rush to vent every frustration with the President...they almost inexplicably stall the process. Just when you think maybe they'll get smart and let this die away quietly Pelosi has to do the walk of shame. Only she doesn't slink back home discreetly. No, they stage a stunningly comical production that is somehow simultaneously funny, sad, and a little disturbing in ways that are hard to put into words but make you want to look over your shoulder and ensure all the doors are locked.

As further proof that impeachment means nothing to the leftist 'rats, before they even bothered to get around to completing their end of the farce they were talking about impeaching President Trump again. Now if that isn't tacit admission that your current impeachment efforts are doomed to fail... It also signals that to them impeachment is simply a political tool, a means to an end - more power for them. If they thought biting the heads off chickens would get them more power, they'd find a way to justify it and they'd caucus at a chicken farm. Probably claim they were helping to reduce global warming.

Pelosi and her cohorts in crime, yes crime because I am 100% convinced they have abused their power and violated their oaths of office, have almost certainly handed President Trump a second term. So while the 'rats probably don't have time to impeach President Trump again this term - they're going to want to hit the campaign trails themselves here soon - I guarantee you we'll see them start the same senseless, tasteless, classless, baseless impeachment mantra again the moment President and Candidate Trump becomes President and President-elect Trump. They may even get a little smarter this time, and commit to their farce and crimes earlier in President Trump's second term so they can have time to go 'round again. I wouldn't be surprised if by the time President Trump leaves office, after two of the most successful terms ever by a single President, that he has also been impeached 3 times, all unsuccessfully. I'll bet he is successful at carrying large Republican majorities into the House and Senate as TDS causes the 'rats to go completely off the deep end, alienating all but their most extreme fringe supporters.
