Bible in a Year:
Bring them here to me, [Jesus] said.
Stone Soup, an old tale with many versions, tells of a starving man who comes to a village, but no one there can spare a crumb of food for him. He puts a stone and water in a pot over a fire. Intrigued, the villagers watch him as he begins to stir his soup. Eventually, one brings a couple of potatoes to add to the mix; another has a few carrots. One person adds an onion, another a handful of barley. A farmer donates some milk. Eventually, the stone soup becomes a tasty chowder.
That tale illustrates the value of sharing, but it also reminds us to bring what we have, even when it seems to be insignificant. In John 6:114 we read of a boy who appears to be the only person in a huge crowd who thought about bringing some food. Christs disciples had little use for the boys sparse lunch of five loaves and two fishes. But when it was surrendered, Jesus increased it and fed thousands of hungry people!
I once heard someone say, You dont have to feed the five thousand. You just have to bring your loaves and fishes. Just as Jesus took one persons meal and multiplied it far beyond anyones expectations or imagination (v. 11), Hell accept our surrendered efforts, talents, and service. He just wants us to be willing to bring what we have to Him.
What have you been holding back from God? Why is it difficult to bring that area of your life to Him?
Jesus, help me to surrender whatever I have to You, knowing You can multiply a little into a lot.
Tunes?
I thought this was Wednesday??

Hi Everybody!
(((HUGS)))
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I must ask the mods to fix it...*sigh*
Long day.
BTW...thanks, ((HUGS))
Ok....I’ve written to the mods.
Now...good evening, MS.B. How are you doing this fine evening? ((HUGS))
Good evening, Mayor, and thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul.
We made it through hump day. Me...just barely as I wrote the wrong title to the thread.
Hai Kathy! (((HUGS))) Well overnight in Omaha from Orlando then to Denver or hope to catch a hop to Seattle for four days rest and recoup.
Good evening, Pro...thank goodness she caught my booboo right away. I always set these up on my laptop every night so I can bring the thread to work. Work has blocked all my sites.
Have you had snow yet?
We finally had snow start following late afternoon today. We'll see how much in the morning.
Good evening, ML...((HUGS))...how are you and Penny doing today? Good walking weather?
We are headed back to nights below zero. Hopefully by next week we will be getting back to above zero and maybe back into double digits in the day time.
The weather has been exceptionally nice for the last couple of days. Penny and i have done some walking, but today I spent most of the day with an old friend from 8th grade. We went out for Chinese Food and then to a couple of anrique stores. She only lives 50 miles away, but through the worst of Boston Beltway Traffic. It took me 2 and a half hours to get home.
Grrrrrrr
*Falling tonight, not following, sheesh, LOL!
Greetings to all at the Canteen!
To all our military men and women, past and present,
Good evening, Janey ((HUGS))...another overnight. Hope you make it home soon. And then enjoy your days off.
I have not prepared any music for tonight. “Tunes for the Troops” caught me off-guard.....so.....
LA - LA - LA - LA - LA - LA - LA - LA - LA - LA - DE - DAH!
Is that enough music, considering the circumstances!?
