Elizabeth Warren has a plan...to put taxpayers on the hook as she says she'll cancel student loan debt on day one of her presidency

When Barack Obama couldn't push his economic plans through Congress, he was unfazed:

We're not just going to be waiting for legislation in order to make sure that we're providing Americans the kind of help they need. I've got a pen and I've got a phone.

Elizabeth Warren likes that idea.  She's therefore announced that, on her first day in the White House, she will take unilateral action to cancel student loan debt:

[T]he Department of Education already has broad legal authority to cancel student debt, and we can't afford to wait for Congress to act. So I will start to use existing laws on day one of my presidency to implement my student loan debt cancellation plan that offers relief to 42 million Americans — in addition to using all available tools to address racial disparities in higher education, crack down on for-profit institutions, and eliminate predatory lending.

Only 43% of public two-year college students, and 34% of for-profit college students who entered repayment on their loans in 2011 had paid even a dollar toward their loan principal after five years. Even among four-year college students, a third of borrowers hadn't made any payment toward principal

I could consider this ... IF ... every student were given a kick-ass exam resurrected from the 1960s, and scored between 95-100% It would have to be in one/some of the STEM disciplines. Every one else MUST PAY.

This really makes me angry.

Because I think Liz should cancel mortgages and car loans too. Oh, and one more thing. I owe my bookie over five grand. He is pictured below. Please, Sen. Warren. Cancel my bookie debt too.

Strange she mentions NOTHING about Fed.gov manufacturing the chains of debt-slavery, or the plantation-owner bureaucrats and administrators in the massive, leftist education-industrial complex who are the direct beneficiaries of all that money.

It’s a rabbit punch for the young folks: instead of having to pay off their student debt for 20 years they get to pay everyone else’s for the rest of their lives. Put it on the taxpayers, sure - and just what did you become when you graduated and got a job?

This plan makes me a chump. Our kids graduated from college debt free. We’re self-employed and we worked extra hours and didn’t take vacations so we could pay our kids tuition and room and board. Our kids worked summers to pay for their college books and spending money. What about all the people who took out student loans and paid them back. They’re chumps too. What about all the people currently in college? Doesn’t this scheme essentially mean the government will pay for all college, public or private? Fortunately, Warren isn’t going to win.

Great idea. We all should vote for her TWICE!

How does this fit in with the agency she finagled out of obozo so she could head it up; Consumer Financial Protection Bureau..She did get it but this says she didn’t.. I guess her plan if she gets to the WH is to say that TAXPAYERS aren’t CONSUMERS therefore they can pay off the student loan debts. Mighty “white” errr “Indian” of you, lady.

What do you suppose her BP is? She never shuts up and she’s always angry. Is her husband normal, I wonder?

Is she going to gift all Americans with the average amount of the student loans forgiven/ Why should Americans that busted their asses working and paying their own bills be on the hook for stupid, lazy , whining little bitches that made poor life choices?

I know. I was just trying to point out how useless college educations can be now, and that IF Lieawatha were to make that promise, it wouldn’t matter. Maybe 5% of grads could pass a college exam from 50 years ago.

You paid for your kids’ educations? It must be nice to have parents who could afford to do that; mine couldn’t. (Although I did have a blast working in the college cafeteria to earn my way.)

I hate to tell you this, but it IS going to happen.

The day Millenials become 50.001% of the voting pool they WILL vote themselves loan forgiveness. Bank on it.

I spend all day talking to them, and I am 100% convinced this is going to happen. They bitch about this more than any other topic aside from “climate change”.
