A new video reveals that two missiles struck Ukraine International Airlines flight PS752, which crashed shortly after take-off from Tehran, Iran early on January 8.
The video appears to be taken from a security camera on the roof of a building near where the plane was struck. The video, which was originally uploaded to YouTube by an Iranian user early Tuesday morning was verified as authentic by a New York Times investigations team.
The video shows the plane being struck by the first missile, which appeared to result in a small explosion, followed by the second missile strike about 20 seconds later. Neither missile immediately downed the plane, which continued to fly for several minutes and attempted to return to the airport. The new video shows the plane appear to be on fire shortly after being hit by the second missile. A video that emerged last week showed the impact from one of the missiles. All 176 people on the plane, a Boeing 737-800 bound for Kyiv, Ukraine, were killed.
The new video can help explain why the plane's transponder stopped transmitting before the crash, suggesting that it was disabled by the first missile. The crash came hours after Iran fired a barrage of missiles at a military base in Iraq housing US forces. Iranian officials initially denied that it shot down the plane before reversing and confirming that it fired the missiles, blaming human error as the military was on high alert in case of retaliatory strikes.
Iranian officials have said that the plane wandered too close to a military site, but an analysis of transponder data from previous flights to Kyiv, and other flights the morning of January 8, shows that PS752 did not deviate from its normal route or vary significantly from other civil flights that day.

Since we know what happened, the black box and the voice recorder won't be that important, now. -Tom
I have a personal story about working with Iranians in a U.S. training exercise.
I was an NROTC midshipman on my second year summer training and we were somewhere in Virginia getting a little taste of what Marine life in the field was all about.
This was in 1972 when we were allies with the Shah of Iran and a few Iranians were being trained along with a group of maybe 100 midshipmen like me.
The Iranian guys were clutzy. The language barrier might have been a big issue, but it was more than that. Your average American may not have operated a rifle before, but he’s driven a car, used a lawn mower, and is mechanically oriented.
I don’t think the Iranians had that background and it caused problems.
And at one point in the training they put me in a foxhole with an Iranian dude. We had rifles with blank cartridges and it was pitch black out and the Marine trainers were in the woods making noise, firing illimination, and trying to show us a tiny glimpse of what a night firefight felt like.
Anyway, the Iranian next to me got jumpy and fired a blank shot directly into my right eye. Fortunately after a couple weeks in the hospital I was fine. Didn’t lose an eye. There were a bunch of plastic bits lodged in the outer layer of the eye and every few weeks I had to get some removed as they were ejected by the eye.
Bottom line, I was lucky. But I still believe if you put mechanical, computing and modern weapons systems in the hands of your average Iranian, there’s a much higher chance of accidents happening.
“Since we know what happened, the black box and the voice recorder won’t be that important, now”
The voice recorder is. If the pilot had time to issue a mayday and request return to the airport, then there should have been time for calls to be made to stop firing at it. It also means a lot more people knew what was happening.
It’s being said that there was almost 2 mins between the 2 missiles. (1 min 53 sec is what I heard)
Iranians believe that the 2nd missile was intentional to try to cover the mistake of the 1st.
Ukrainian plane took off about four hours after the missile attack.
Iran launched missiles at 1:20 a.m. Baghdad, Iraq local time. Ukrainian airplane took off at 06:12:47 Tehran local time. Tehran, Iran is 30 minutes ahead of Baghdad, Iraq.
The plane shoot-down was about 4hours after the Iraqi base attack.
I tend to be open to the idea of coverups, etc., so think you might have a valid question.
We will never know, and you can bet the MSM will never invest 5 minutes of time, trying to find out.
I never heard this. Thanks for update.
But that span of time just makes it look more suspect.
They tried tha easiest explanation first, and it gets more complicated.
Wow. Glad you didn’t lose an eye...I had a fairly benign encounter with one that lost me a tie and got me ten dollars...I was in Jet-A school in Millington, TN and when I was preparing to punch holes in my stack of self-paced learning papers, an Iranian guy next to me grabbed my tie, stuck it in the machine and hit the punch button.
It punched a hole in the tie, and while I was still processing, the guy grinningly handed me a ten dollar bill, which could buy a few ties in that day.
I always thought the Iranians were friendly and a bit goofy, after I got out and went to college, I had a bunch in my Chemistry classes and became good friends with one in my program.
I remember one time trying to explain to him what a “Cherry Boy” was, and the cultural barrier was a high one. When introduced, he said his name was (phonetically) “Homayun Azsmiley”...but “You can call me ‘Brian’...”
He was a good guy, but there were some others who were a-holes.
Middle Eastern and Persian cultures have issues with labor and technology, or are at least very different from us in that respect.
Ya’ know what - that meme that the Iranians weren’t trying to hurt anyone when they rocketed our airbase is getting dang thin.
Watch this BBC report!

They hit freakin’ barracks. And they also did the terrorist tactic of hitting, wait for damage control / rescue to come out, and hit again.
Again, the unanswered question.
Who was on that plane fleeing Iran, that the mullahs did not want to leave Iran?
Missiles were a takedown in my view to stop somebody or many on that flight
Planes took off on the same path before and AFTER the one that was shot down
Why that plane?????
That is one reason we cleared those places out as a precaution.
If it’s not already posted (my search may not be all inclusive), can somebody start a thread on that BBC vid? I’ve got a back and forth regarding a computer problem going on, on another thread and don’t want to gum up my “My Comments”.
“The 1619 Project is an ongoing initiative from The New York Times Magazine that began in August 2019, the 400th anniversary of the beginning of American slavery. It aims to reframe the countrys history by placing the consequences of slavery and the contributions of black Americans at the very center of our national narrative.

PP, you were very fortunate.
Just think, if it had been a Red Ryder BB gun, he could have shot your eye out! 8>/
Still 20/20 vision? :-)
Yes, their explanation is that those wily foxes at the Pentagon were able to use technology to fool the Iranian systems so as to disguise the passenger plane as an incoming attack aircraft.
Yes, i know what the project is all about,it’s bs.
i just didn’t see the relevance here
And we swing around to the beginning puzzle of this sub-theme of this thread.
Someone mentioned Occams razor earlier. I think were beyond this.

Great recount.
