I can see where that might be a little unnerving!

Just the source of the island real estate creating more real estate. It wasn’t a matter of if, but a matter of when. Shouldn’t build in a flood plain ether.

A VEI 3 or 4 seems most likely. A VEI 6 is possible, or even a VEI 7. That would be very bad for Manilla and cause global cooling.

They should sacrifice St. Greta of Thunberg to the volcano to appease it.

The danger is that Taal is under threat of a potential VEI 6 eruption. That type of eruption will literally collapse the volcano cones into the lake surrounding it, causing a large amount of damage from the resulting tsunami in addition to the damage from the ejected material from the volcano.

I am not sure that would work. Greta exhale’s as much or more gas every time she opens her pie hole. It would be a close competition.

Mount St Helens was a VEI 5 or there abouts. A VEI 6 is ten times largerthan the prior. So if St Helens is one foot, then the VEI 6 is ten feet. A VEI seven is 100 feet. A VEI 8 is 1000 feet. Just to put it in perspective.
Then comes the duration. Two days? Four? One week? Two weeks?
Yellowstone was the second largest known behind Toba. The third or fourth? The Long Valley eruption..And that one has the magma ABOVE the valley floor at this time in the mountains around it.
