If one lived in a horrific place where one is subject to torture, I suppose suicide is preferable to suffering. If you're an unhappy rockstar or movie star, it does not make much sense.

I had a casual acquaintance who went out that way about ten years ago. Everyone at the memorial seemed to pretend not to know, and/or wouldn’t talk about cause, except in whispers.
I really like the show. The first 6 seasons stream on Prime Video. Mythos, Darrius, Duncan, Joe, and Amanda in addition to Richie and Duncan were all well-acted parts.
The spin-off: Highlander: The Raven featured Amanda played by Elizabeth Gracen, who was allegedly raped by Bill Clinton in his governor’s limo if memory serves.
After going public she quickly retracted.
Anyhoo, great show. Adrian Paul has a re-occurring role in The Arrow. Rest in peace Richie!
A lot of these hangings are the result of auto-erotic sex that just went a little to far.

GH had him listed as some character named “Carl” back in 1992, at the start of his acting career.
I enjoyed the show as well. For an actor, it must have been great to step out of the here and now, and play your character in a different period (50, 100, 300 ) years past every week. And Paul did it well.
