The New York Times reported on Monday that hackers from the Russian military intelligence unit known as the GRU succeeded in hacking Burisma, the Ukrainian natural gas company that Hunter Biden sat on the board of, and that Joe Biden protected from investigation by withholding $1 billion in aid unless Ukrainian officials fired the prosecutor investigating the company.
GRU is responsible for other high-profile hacks of the DNC and John Podesta. Seven GRU officers were indicted in 2018 for conspiring to interfere with the 2016 election.
The hacking attempts against Burisma began in early November, as the Democrats' impeachment efforts increased the profile of the company and Biden's conflict of interests.
It is not yet known what the hackers found or what they were looking for. The New York Times says that "experts say the timing and scale of the attacks suggest that the Russians could be searching for potentially embarrassing material on the Bidens."
The GRU hackers succeeded in attacking the company through a phishing scam that sent their employees to bogus login pages, from which the employees' login credentials could be obtained.
So what does this mean? Scott Rosenburg of Axios believes that awareness of the hacks "cuts both ways politically." There are huge negative implications for Joe Biden and his presidential campaign, since "it means document dumps could happen at any time, with accompanying media frenzy and potentially damaging revelations." Many on the left still believe—despite all evidence to the contrary—that Trump colluded with Russia in 2016, so Russian involvement with the hacks "means that any such revelations will come pre-tainted with a Russian label," according to Rosenburg.

I don’t trust the timing of this at all. Something is going to come out against Biden soon and the NYT apparently knows it... probably leaked from the deep state to the Biden campaign or the DNC, or perhaps to NYT direct.

You can already see the narrative. Anything released that is damaging to Biden must, therefore, be collusion with the Russians.

Looks like the DeepState is planning Russian Collusion v2.0 to try and shield Biden from all his corruption.
The story about the alleged Russian phishing attack on Burisma that was pitched by Area 1 Security and promoted by the NYT is intended to accomplish one or all of the following objectives.
1) To promote a pissant computer security firm that is run by progressive Democrats.
2) To deflect from the onslaught of adverse publicity regarding the Biden family’s dealings with Burisma that would certainly arise during an impeachment trial in the Senate.
3) To reinforce the idiotic Russian conspiracy theories that the Deep State and their propaganda ministers in the corporate media have spun for the past three years.

It is possible that something new will emerge about the Biden family business of corruption.
It is metaphysically certain that public awareness about Biden family corruption will grow enormously if the Senate has an impeachment trial with witnesses.
The corporate media may be using this story to influence Democrats and other Russian conspiracy theorists to tune out any factual news about Biden, regardless of whether it is old or new.
The question no one seems interested in asking is whether the information, whether “hacked” or not, is factual.
