Back in the day when we were a REAL nation...1958:)
e = ellipse
a = the ellipse's semi-major axis (half of the longest diameter of the ellipse)
b = the ellipse's semi-minor axis (half of the shortest diameter of the ellipse)
So we should be in a natural rising carbon condition because we are hundreds of years (actually a few thousand) into the warming.
Volcanic activity and low solar activity seem to be correlated at some level. Some have suggested anyway. It’s going to be a combination of factors that cause the sudden drop in temperatures.
Might get some frozen hippie statues up in Canada tomorrow. Serious life threatening temperatures expected. Might have the coldest spot in the world just over the border in Canada.
This will keep you busy for days...

Take two cans of the refrigerator. Open both.
Put one back in the fridge.
Put the other one out in the sun.
Which one loses its fizz first.
Carbon dioxide dissolves into cold sea water.
When the water is warmed, the gas comes back out.
Physics.
The ocean is big, and can store huge amounts of gas.
It can take a few hundred years to get it back out.
I don’t know the answer to the headline but I do know that researchers had spotted an ozone hole over Antartica during the International Geophysical Year 1957-58, long before Freon use had become widespread.
The ozone hole is probably part of the Earth's atmosphere, it's just that the first year-round human presence wasn't until the 1950s -- the first issue of the National Geographic had the cover story about those guys.
