Useful Idiots on the Right: The Never Trumpers

One could perhaps have excused them their earlier indiscretions of November 2016. He was, after all, an unknown quantity, an outsider of questionable conservative pedigree. Indeed, Donald Trump had been a fairly typical New York liberal Democrat for much of his life. And he had led a less than stellar moral life. And so the pile-on at the time by National Review and others could perhaps have been forgiven, although not really, when one considered the alternative. As I had written at the time:

I saw a cover of a recent NR and it had Pete Butt edge edge looking like Alfred E Neuman. They may hate Trump but they are paying attention to him.

The 2016 election was a binary choice. Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump. Period.

The staff at NR weren’t useful idiots, though idiots they may very well be. They’re frauds of the worst sort. For decades they presented themselves as conservatives yet when the time came to follow the Buckley Rule they didn’t just abandon it. They actively worked to destroy it.

Their actions gave endorsement to perhaps the worst criminal ever to run for President, Hillary Clinton. Their “Never Trump” position did incalculable damage to the Trump Presidency which has continued to this very day.

Every member of the Editorial board with the exception of Professor Hanson should be publicly shunned and shamed along with their yapping lapdogs over at Red State.

In a rational world they’d all be in hiding right now.

The Never Trumpers left the GOP when Trump was nominated. At that point, the NT had no party. Soo they went to the Dem Party. They may not admit it, but that is what it is.

It’s also weird that it took 5 posts for someone to notice it. ;-D Reading anything more than the title is such a chore, don’cha’know.

They are Bush League Republicans trying desperately to save the Bush Plan for North Mexico (aka USA).

There are still plenty of them in the Senate.

After everything that he has selflessly done for this country, anyone out there that still does not support this president is anti American, period.

Yeah, there are areas that need tweaking, and slow turning wheels (justice) that need greasing, but to consider a dem, any dem, as a possible replacement is nothing short of utter insanity, or a willful disregard for the continuation of the greatest grand experiment in the world.

They may not admit it, but that is what it is.

Quick rule of thumb for you:

Partisan Democrat Federal judges have been running the country for the last three years by overriding the President of the United States.

At this point, if you're still in favor of a Democrat being appointed* to the Federal bench, you're a Democrat.

*The only way Democrats get appointed to the Federal bench from here on out is if Trump or his successors aren't in office.

When Trump first announced I had my doubts about him because of his past friendship with the Clintons. Some of the other candidates had stronger conservative credentials but it is clear that none of them could have beaten Hillary. Once it was obvious that Trump would become the nominee I was all for him winning but had little hope that would happen until late in the evening of election day (I kept the TV off for several hours wanting to delay hearing what I thought for sure would be the news, that Hillary was going to win).

I can't understand the mentality of the people like Romney and the folks at National Review who continued to attack Trump after he won the nomination, considering that the alternative was Hillary. George Will was probably the worst in the intensity of his vitriolic attacks on Trump, and he doesn't seem to have changed one bit. He should have stuck to writing columns about baseball.

Amen! Frauds and charlatans is exactly what these snobs are and they hate the common American as much as liberals. I will usually look at NRO just to keep track of the enemy, what are the Bush Republicans, Country club snobs in cahoots with now with the Democrats. I don’t look at article titles just the authors names at first. If Hanson or McCarthy is the author I give it a read, otherwise just a glance to see what they are surrendering on next.

We have seen displayed the arrogance of the liberals during the House impeachment. No different for the some republicans.

They are worse than democrats because they know better.

Traitors, beneath contempt.
