Hey, GOP! This is What Pushback Looks Like

Republican voters have lamented for years over the lack of pushback from their elected leaders. Democrats and the media hurl baseless and libelous accusations at Republicans, only to be met with a weak defense at best, or silence at worst.

Republicans want to push granny off a cliff, make senior citizens eat dog food, starve children and put them in cages. Republicans are racist, sexist, bigoted, homophobic, Islamophobic, mean-spirited, and ignorant.

Watch any cable news show and get a healthy dose of this garbage. If you don’t like the news, watch late night “comedy,” entertainment award shows, or virtually any television series to hear much the same. It’s one-way propaganda with no pushback.

As one of the all-time great propagandists Joseph Goebbels summed it up, “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”

In the last few years, however, the tide is turning. Pushback is being demonstrated by our pugilist-in-chief, President Donald Trump. And others are following his lead.

I can understand that President Bush 43 did not fight back against his opponents while he was president, but I wished he had taken revenge against them after he was out of office.

GW the garbage President. He never fought back and left office with an approval rating in his 30s.

The guy brought us 8 years of Obama.

Profiles in Courage:

Patrick Henry: "Give me liberty or give me death!"

Nathan Hale: "I only regret that I have one live to give for my country"

John Paul Jones: "I have not yet begun to fight!"

Modern day republicans: "We don't want to be blamed for anything that might hurt our re-election chances."

Modern day republicans: “If we push back, they won’t like us and we won’t get invited to their parties.”

George W. Bush was a WEAK Repubic, just absolutely pitiful.

Gutless weasels like him, and many other Repubics, have aided the advance of the American Nazi Party with their pathetic uselessness.

To Hell him and them and everyone like them.

One thing I like is how it exposed a lot of wind windbags on the right that were just tough-talking posers. People that thought they were such badasses because they compared themselves to RINOs and Democrats, and saw themselves as really hardcore, only to hear them whining and sniveling because mean ole Trump keeps hitting and isnt using the George W. non-approach, that they used to lambaste back in 2007 as being weak.

George W Bush preferred the “high road,” saying in 2013, “There’s no need to defend myself. I did what I did and ultimately history will judge.” His high road gave us eight years of an Obama low road.

The "high road" is the EXCUSE that Bush and his like minded cohorts in the GOP have used for years to avoid confronting liberals and the mendacious media. Rather than standing on principle and pushing back they hide under the cover of "being above it all".

They are in reality nothing but weak and unprincipled appeasers

The only pushback that matters is indictments.

By now, rotten Justice Department, FBI and other rats should have long been purged, grand juries should have been busy issuing from 30-50 indictments, not just for individuals, but for criminal conspiracies.

Meetings, hearings, investigations, etc., ad nauseum, do not actually DO anything. Indictments do things.

So far, only a few low level creeps have been indicted, arrested and tried. They were found guilty and sent to prison. All of the higher ups, the bosses, are still free to enjoy their lives.

The Republicans responsible for this inaction have no excuse, any more than a prosecutor who refuses to indict a terrorist or serial killer because they don’t want to make waves.

If President Trump doesn’t change this, and soon, and force his attorney general to start doing his job, it will be by far the worst blemish on his otherwise fine legacy. An asterisk by his name in the record books.

Well, we’re going to need a lot more examples than the two offered in this article. I’m hoping Barr provides a WHOLE LOT more.

Donald Trump has provided us with an example of how to fight. Will the republican party learn? I doubt that they will.

They talk tough — just before each election cycle. You can count on that. The moment after the election is over its right back their usual supine posture of appeasement.

Maybe one day Republicans will vote on results instead of empty and disinginuous rhetoric. (I can dream, can’t I?)

No. Even Ronald Reagan couldn’t change the feckless GOP. Trump won’t be able to do it either.

The GOP is what it is.

GWB was, at best, a RINOcrat Establishment like the entire Bush clan.

GWB refused to secure our sovereign borders and even marched proudly waving a Meeheecan flag.

GWB was NOT an American patriot.

It’s kind of funny, actually, I give him credit on the dodge, it was crafty. I expect Jeb! would have been nailed square in the face.

And yep Trump would have just caught the shoe, flicked it back at him, and relieved the man of his noggin.
