AOC REFUSES to pay $250,000 in dues from the Democrats because the party 'clearly told people like me that we're not welcome' New York Representative Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez is holding back $250,000 in dues she owes the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee AOC says she won't pay up because she doesn't see why she should give 'to an organization that has clearly told people like me that we're not welcome'
The dues, paid from her campaign fundraising, are earmarked to help keep the Democratic House majority The 30-year-old was referring to a policy that she says 'blacklists' vendors working with insurgent primary challengers like herself
'I don't think my fundraising should go to preventing more people like me from being here in congress,' she said in an interview with Fox News.
The news outlet reported on Friday that AOC drew fire for not failing to pay the committee.
She insisted: 'I'm a Democrat, I'm proud to be on this team. I'm proud to be part of the Democratic majority,' she told Fox News, amid criticism she should quit the party and become an independent if she won't be a 'team player.'
In her defense, AOC said she's raised more than $300,000 directly for progressive Democrats, including incumbents in swing districts, and that the effort she made was for 'preserving and expanding the Democratic majority'.
All Democrats in the House are required to pay dues to the campaign committee. A range is set from as low as $150,000 for newer members to $1 million paid by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

She says she’s still got $20K in college debt. She is making $180K per year. Obviously not following the Dave Ramsey plan...
first the impeachment debacle, now this. nancy is going to get one of her minions to primary that chick, and then she can go back to her bartending gig, where the only controversial conversation will be about whether she blows her customers.
This little princess is going to learn the hard way that rookies who think they make the rules are soon out of the game.
A greedy little idjit, isnt she? Every time I see her I think of her theme song which Im sure is If I Only Had A Brain.
So will the Democrats do anything to her, or will she just be starting a new trend?
It will be interesting to see who is left standing after the smoke clears- communist Dims like Aoc and the squad, or Natzi Pelousy and the old school socialist leftists.
Reminds of the old Beatles song Maxwells Silver Hammer. Only in Nastys case, its her wooden gavel. Kind of sixes in the socialist department but Ill bet on old age and treachery over youth and exuberance.
Fine. Switch Parties, then.
The Greens always need people, or is it the Commies’?
I may never eat ribs again! LOL
The poor thing has a real command of how politics works. You take $250K from others, some very bad things will happen to your greedy a$$. You take $250 million and share it appropriately they name public buildings after you and give you honorary degrees from Yale.
Even for someone in what passes for today's high school civics, come November stick a fork in her she's done.
Wow, protection money demanded by the DNC. Can’t imagine she’ll be getting any money from them next time around if she doesn’t fall in line.
Th democrat party will whack her. You have to pay the fig or else you end up in the pine forest.
AOC not in it for the next time around....she’s reached her own level of notority and will write books, make appearances etc. once her turns over..... The question will be if anyone thinks she’s worth the risk.
Nice little house seat you got there;
be a shame if something should happen to it.
Funny isn’t it that she’s pro-socialism for everyone else, yet when she’s required to give up some of her own campaign donations so it can be used to help other Democrats, she’s suddenly anti-socialism.
