Iran officials acknowledged Saturday that they accidentally shot down a Ukrainian passenger plane that crashed earlier this week, killing all 176 people aboard.
Gen Amir Ali Hajizadeh, head of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard’s aerospace division, told state TV that his unit accepts “full responsibility” for shooting the down aircraft minutes after it took off Wednesday from Tehran’s international airport. He said that when he learned about the downing of the plane, “I wished I was dead.”
The aircraft, which was heading to Kiev, was shot down hours after Iran launched a ballistic missile attack on two military bases housing U.S. and coalition troops in Iraq. Those attacks were in retaliation for the killing of Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani in an American airstrike in Baghdad.
No one was wounded in the attack on the bases.

Everyone here is missing something. You see the missile was RUSSIAN. That means it could have gone off by itself. Ask any Russian why they drink so much. You see nothing in Russia works and they have to put up with it. Nobody died at 3 Mile Island but look how many died at Chernobyl. They’re exporting defective equipment. Just look at the carrier India tried to buy form them or was it aircraft?
Would Iran throw Russia under the bus? 180 deaths is not serious enough to those mullahs.
If The Iranian military in charge of missiles is this jumpy and irresponsible, Iran should never be allowed to get atom bombs to put into its rockets.

One way to look at this is that they were so spooked
by our ability to enter their air space undetected
that they shot down a civilian airliner just taking
off.
The bigger question is why in the world the airport wasn’t shut down for at least a period of time before and after they were attacking our bases.
That is the most irresponsible and inexplicable action or rather inaction of all.
