Bloomberg to tell states to restore felon voting rights, stop purging rolls

Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg would seek to standardize federal elections across the United States and prevent states from blocking felons from voting under a plan aimed at expanding access to elections rolled out on Friday.

Bloomberg’s plan echoes proposals offered by his Democratic rivals as the party shows a unified front on the issue of combating voter suppression. Voting access is an important issue for the party’s minority voters, who are often seen as targeted by Republican lawmakers.

Under the voting rights plan, Bloomberg would seek to create a non-partisan commission that would look to standardize federal elections, including forcing states to restore voting rights to felons and prohibit them from charging onerous fees to get those rights back.

Bloomberg’s plan would also make same-day registration standard, increase early voting, expand polling places and prohibit states from making last-minute changes that seek to alienate voters, as well as allow voters in states that require voter identification to offer affidavits of eligibility.

On Friday, Bloomberg joined Stacey Abrams in Atlanta at the Fair Fight 2020 Summit, an event aimed at tackling voting issues. Abrams ran for governor of Georgia in 2018 and nearly pulled out a surprising victory. Supporters blame her loss on a decision by Georgia’s secretary of state to make it more difficult to register to vote, disproportionately affecting the state’s black voters.

What’s “American” about him?

He’s a Globalist, which means he has no state identity...other then the location his airplane is currently parked.

So he can’t be a domestic enemy. He’s clearly foreign.

And I tell Bloomberg to go do something to himself which is anatomically impossible. Do you think he will follow my instructions?

Disarm law abiding Americans and subject them to the votes of criminals. Sounds like a great plan.

Ok. WOW! Democrats have gone from being the party of working class middle income Americans (circa 50’s/60’s) to being the party for Illegal Aliens, the gender confused, TERRORISTS, and now felon’s.

Quite the base.

Can anyone, anywhere, cite examples of this happening?

I know Stacey Abrams has been full of bluster on this issue, but I’ve yet to hear anyone cite particular cases where this has happened. Stacey and others talk in general terms about this, but is it really “the big lie”, that if repeated often enough, becomes accepted as truth? This article seems to accept as a given that Republicans are taking away voting rights. Where did the writers of this article get that idea?

Democrats are also the party of global warming. They seem to be the party of anyone, who wants to tear down the infrastructure of our government, society, culture, and economy.

John Podesta and Eric Holder. Both America-haters.

Without the republicans retaking complete control while Trump is president then there is little hope to fix so many serious problems with this country. One of those problems that will soon spell “Doom” is the issue of vote fraud. It is how the democrats win. And it is also why the republicans will probably never regain total control. In fact they are likely to loose it all. And then America will be finished.

Bloomberg knows this all too well.

"Democratic presidential candidate Michael Bloomberg would seek to standardize federal elections across the United States and prevent states from blocking felons from voting under a plan aimed at expanding access to elections rolled out on Friday."
FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument

Mr. Bloomberg is probably the kind of misguided politician that post-Civil War constitutional lawmakers had feared imo.

Patriots, beware that Bloomberg’s ideas are evidence that the constitutionally undefined political parties are still fighting the cold war part of the Civil War imo.

More specifically, in stark contrast to Bloomberg’s support for voting rights for felons, post-Civil War Republican lawmakers were evidently concerned that minority Democrats might try to flip a state blue in a federal election through ballot box manipulation. This is evidenced by constitutional lawmakers including language in Section 2 of the 14th Amendment that respects state disenfranchisement of criminals.

Corrections, insights welcome.

Remember in November!
