'Code Pink Republicans!' — Mark Levin Unloads On Mike Lee and Rand Paul
PJ Media ^ | January 10, 2020 | Michael van der Galien

Posted on 01/10/2020 9:12:00 AM PST by jazusamo

To say that conservative talk radio host Mark Levin isn't happy with Senators Rand Paul and Mike Lee would be an understatement of epic proportions. The reason? Their decision to stand in front of leftwing-media cameras to blast the Trump administration after they were briefed on the decision to take out Iranian Terror General Qasem Soleimani. "Code Pink Republicans," as Levin called them, misinterpret the United States Constitution by pretending it's a libertarian or even populist document, which it is not.

"The briefing lasted only 75 minutes, whereupon our briefers left," Lee said afterward. "This, however, is not the biggest problem I have with the briefing, which I would add was probably the worst briefing I’ve seen at least on a military issue in the nine years I’ve served in the United States Senate."

"I find it insulting and I find it demeaning to the Constitution of the United States, he went on to say. "It’s un-American. It’s unconstitutional. And it’s wrong. ... They are appearing before a coordinate branch of government responsible for their funding, for their confirmation, for any approval of any military action they might take. They had to leave after 75 minutes while they were in the process of telling us that we need to be good little boys and girls and not debate this in public. I find that to be absolutely insane."

Rand Paul added that the briefing was "less than satisfying" and blasted the administration for using the 2002 war authorization (against Iraq) as the basis for the airstrike against Soleimani. "I see no way in the world you could logically argue that an authorization to have war with Saddam Hussein has anything to with having war with people currently in Iraq," Paul said, adding that this justification is actually"absurd" and "an insult."

Nancy Pelosi was the one who falsely certified Obama.

And she paid the price...uh no wait, we did. My post was sarcasm, I know Obama was not a professor as the media claimed. On the other hand Levin is a real constitutional scholar, he was just addled over Cruz, don't know how he could ignore everything he knows about the Constitution. We will see this come up agin in 24 so get ready for the battle. At my age I likely will miss the next clash, but it is coming for sure unless the Supremes interfere.

Rand Paul, like most modern libertarian lunatics, still hasn’t figured out the No. 1 plank of libertarianism - the sanctity and protection of private property.

Rand, like his insane old man, Ron, hasn’t figured out that an embassy is the private property of the United States - DUH!!! And when it’s attacked, it’s proper libertarian doctrine to defend it, including killing the attacker.

Rand, like most libertarian lunatics, elevates weenism over protection of private property. Rand wants to show his leftist buddies that he’s more concerned over being anti-war than upholding the libertarian doctrine of private property. That makes Rand both a squishy weenie and an idiot who doesn’t understand the No. 1 plank of libertarianism - the protection of private property.

So Rand can go to his next weenie, leftist cocktail party and claim an award for both weenism and anti-war leftism.

Good for him.

In addition to that, what else does Mike Lee have in common with Harry Reid, Jeff Flake and Mitt Romney? Hmmm...

Didn’t Lee just announce this past week that he and some Dem Senator were co-authoring some dumb bill?

He was pissed because they would not answer his “what if”, hypothetical questions regarding future possible actions.

What is left of FReepers is so knee jerk these days is sad. Everyone now condemns W Bush for being a bad prez, but God forbid you said that around here when he was.

Quite possible. He introduced a joint resolution with Bernie and Murphy (D-Conn) in Feb to remove US forces from hostilities in Yemen.

Bingo to what you said.

How many of here Freepers had Trump as their #1 candidate in the Republican primaries, raise your hands. (Well, I see none.)

Trump won over base voters eventually, and I voted for him enthusiastically. But all of us were still holding our breath, not sure of what a president Trump would do.

Until all Leftists forced his hands, that there was NO WAY Trump could have worked with them on anything at all.

Levin was/is not a NeverTrumper. Big difference.
