U.S. Representative Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) claimed Thursday that President Donald Trump could be to blame for the fatal crash of a Ukraine passenger jet in Iran on Wednesday, due to "collateral damage" caused by his "provocative" killing of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani.
Speier made the remarks during an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer, on the Thursday edition of his show The Situation Room. The congresswoman confirmed that she had heard classified details concerning the claim by U.S. officials that the plane was accidentally brought down by an Iranian anti-aircraft missile strike. She insisted Trump would be responsible for the crash if the claim proves to be true.
"If what is being projected is true, this is yet another example of collateral damage from the actions that have been taken in a provocative way by the president of the United States," Speier said.
All 176 people aboard the Ukraine International Airlines flight were killed in the crash.
Blitzer asked Speier if she thought "heightened tensions" would be caused by the Iranian "miscalculation" of shooting down the plane.
Although she characterized the Iranians as "bad actors," Speier suggested that the strike against Soleimani was counterproductive to the goal of seeking peace. "Iran has been a bad actor. Soleimani was a bad actor," said Speier. "But there are many people in that region and around the world who are bad actors. We have to find a way to live together and attempt to move towards peace."

Jackie Speier fits in very well in the insane asylum of California.
Diplomacy with Iran means that they lie to you and you give them money. They agree not to commit terrorism while committing terrorism.
There's always a "but" with these treasonous lunatics.
Jackie, Pete, you’ll convince those 23% of Americans, but to the other 3/4ths you sound like deranged fools, incapable of seeing what’s in front of your face. This obvious bias clouds everything you say or do. Everything.
in fact, you help cement our impressions of your dangerous bias in the minds of our majority.
You Ds are not to be trusted.
Ukrainian plane shot down with blood money provided by the Obama Administration, there fixed it!
100% predictable, “ It’s Trump’s fault “
PEACH FOTI FI
If I needed another reason to hate demonRATS, this one would fill the bill.
Trump did it.
Why the heck did that plane have clearance to leave? What pilot in their right mind would take that risk?
'But'heads.
Donald Trump is responsible for Iran shooting down the Ukrainian plane because he didn’t go back in time and stop Obama from giving Iran $150 billion with which it bought the missile that Iran used to shoot down that plane.
Let’s do a little math.
150B in unfrozen assets + 170B cash in unmarked bills = 220B
The missile system that brought down the Ukraine plane cost 700M.
Iran can afford to purchase 314 missile systems.
OR
Iran has an 80M dollar price tag on Trump’s head.
Iran can afford to put a bounty on an additional 2749 western leaders.
That’s how bad the situation is.
Iran can afford to pay for nuclear arms and missile testing at Kim Jong Un’s North Korean Proving Grounds.
Kerry and Obama and all involved should hang publicly.
Saw John Kerry on TV yesterday pretending to be offended.
It was sickening.
One more proving Democrats are lunatics howling at the moon
Speier is providing aid and comfort to the enemy in time of war.
We used to hang traitors. Where is Barr when you need him?
If what some Dems say is true and Trump wagged the dog and killed that Iranian guy to get the topic off impeachment then Pelosi is ultimately responsible for the shoot down deaths.
Jackie Spier is the collateral damage Californias lunacy has inflicted upon the rest of the nation.
Hitler at the very end of his rope said: “Speier will save us and make a breakthrough.”
In any form of negotiation, if you don’t know what your leverage is versus what your opponent’s are, then you are being negligent to yourself.
In diplomacy, if you communicate without leverage (whether you truly have it or not), then you are not going to be able to arrive at the optimal agreement for both sides of the table. You’d be negligent to the side that you represent.
If you don’t have leverage, you either find it in whatever way you can (alliances, exposing opponent weaknesses, etc) or you bluff that you have some. In the world of the bluff, credibility becomes the key.
Now, the U.S. doesn’t have to prove the capabilities that it possesses nor leverage and advantages it can use, but oddly enough, the U.S. seems to have a credibility problem in it’s diplomacy with actors like Iran.
Why?
The answer is internal political weakness, and even subterfuge.
When people on the right claim that the left and the media really would prefer that this country be hurt over Trump being successful in his job, it is not hyperbole, even though it sounds like it.
We do not have credibility in our forms of diplomacy with Iran because we have demonstrated that we are willing to both fail to respond to attack as well as to generally appease, many times in the past.
When you don’t negotiate with a clear strategy, not only are you selling yourself short, but you are confusing your opponent. You are not giving him clear signs about where they stand and how their options can work for them.
JACKIE IS SMOKING STUFF AGAIN.
better to blame the Democrats and Pelosi. They impeached the President and Soleimani thought he could no longer respond to provocation. He was wrong. The Democrats are traitors. Let our cry be, “Remember 1979.”
