I represent more troops than any other member of this body. I buried one of them earlier today at Arlington.
If our servicemembers have the courage to fight and die in these wars, Congress ought to have the courage to vote for or against them.
I’m voting for this resolution.

Thanks- not sure who Rooney is, never heard of him- but he sure showed his true colors with his vote- he and gaetz and ilk colluded with the left to undermine this president- even though it’s just symbolic- the point is that IF there were almost enough votes to pass the bill, and the president wasn’t able to veto it- people like gaetz and ilk ‘would have been’ complicit in undermining this president-
They have sent the message “IF there had been enough votes, we would have voted to cripple this president” Their message got through loud and clear- their true colors came through loud and clear-

The war powers act is for declaring war, NOT for taking out individual terrorists - and Gaetz should know that- if he doesn’t, and it appears he doesn’t- he doesn’t belong in congress- This is a basic knowledge issue=-

The Senators from the Great State of Utah want leverage. Who is going to pay the most pork for Utah for their vote “for” complete impeachment removal of the President. Collins and Murkowski and are the same. Then they launder the money through various federal contractors and real estate companies at home, right into their own pockets.
They all have announced they are for sale.
And it will bring many other RINOs to the trough, slobbering for pork.

Breitbart has a great article on the Dem voting against the war powers show vote. While he is doing CYA since he voted for impeachment he does make some great points that the virtue signalling GOP pols fail to care about.

Again- Trump was NOT declaring war on iran- He was moving quickly as an opportunity presented itself- a golden opportunity- which would have been lost had he been required to go and get congressional approval first- people like gaetz want to restrict the president and prevent him from protecting America by acting quickly and decisively when hte opportunities to take out lone terrorists WITHOUT declaring war- presents itself-
The ‘War Powers Act’ is just that - WAR- it was never meant for Self Defense against known terrorists- Soleimani murdered 600 American soldiers- 600! That is 600 families that lost loved ones forever because of a brutal brutal terrorist-
How anyone can argue that he shouldn’t have been taken out in split decision attacks when the opportunity presented itself, and argues that a president must get congressional permission to do

Well stated-
I remember when Saddam was the epitome of evil, and once he was taken out, all would be well. Now it’s the government of Iran. Why are we there at all? Get Americans out of the Middle East and let them fight to the death with each other.
Saddam was the epitome of evil= Read some of the crap he pulled on people- it was absolutely horrendous=- Mengela type torture- He had to go- His people were escaping from iraq and begging congress to do something for those who were stuck under his evil regime-
We’re not going to war with Iran- Iran will not risk losing control- They saw what happened in Iraq- they aint stupid- They are evil, but not recklessly stupid like Saddam was

Congress should declare war on Iran and if they won’t, the use of force against Iran should not be permitted.
The “War Powers Resolution” is facially unconstitutional, and no one should pay attention to it at all.
This is not a good response to this question.
Obviously, the existence of deliverable nuclear weapons in large numbers requires an EXCEPTION to a general rule.
But the general rule is still valid, and more than that, Constitutionally correct.
